LEGO Leak Reveals Special Pikachu Set for 2026

Recent leaks suggest a new LEGO Pokémon set will feature Pikachu along with a house built in Pikachu’s likeness. The set is also expected to include some of LEGO’s newest technology, adding interactive or smart features.

As a huge Pokémon and LEGO fan, I was so excited when I heard they were teaming up! It was announced almost nine months ago that we’d be getting Pokémon LEGO sets in 2026, but we haven’t heard much since then. Luckily, over the last few months, more and more little bits of info have been popping up online about what the sets might look like – it’s getting me so hyped!

LEGO Pokemon 2026 Line Reportedly Includes Pikachu with Pikachu-Shaped House Set

A LEGO insider, lego_minecraft_goat, recently shared more details about a potential LEGO Pokémon set planned for 2026. The set, reportedly called “Smart Play: Pikachu’s House,” is rumored to be a Pikachu-shaped house that includes a Pikachu figure. While the official set number is unknown, the source claims it will cost $69.99 and is expected to be released in the summer of 2026.

Pikachu’s House Rumored to Feature LEGO’s Smart Brick

Beyond the exciting “Pikachuception” idea, the new LEGO Pokémon set is rumored to include a cutting-edge “Smart Brick” technology. LEGO first revealed they were working on this technology in June 2024, and this set would be the first to use it worldwide. This system features an electronic hub that interacts with special bricks, creating lights and sounds as you build or play. These smart bricks are said to be rechargeable and have both lights and sensors built in.

Existing LEGO City Sets With Smart Bricks

  • Jungle Explorer Base Camp (60691)
  • The Lost Crocodile Temple (60692)
  • Survivor Island Seaplane (60693)

The initial three LEGO sets designed to work with Smart Bricks were only sold in the UK and are now out of stock.

The Smart Bricks platform, while not widely available yet, was tested in a small number of LEGO City sets released only in the UK during 2025 – the Jungle Explorer Base Camp, Survivor Island Seaplane, and The Lost Crocodile Temple. These sets are no longer being sold. Recent information suggests LEGO’s next test of Smart Bricks – or potentially its first worldwide release – will be focused on Pokemon. A rumor indicates the Pikachu figure will include a Smart Brick and be a larger, more complex build rather than a typical minifigure.

Upcoming LEGO Pikachu Set May Be Based on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon

A LEGO set designed like Pikachu’s house suggests it might be based on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team games. These Nintendo DS games, originally released in 2006, featured a location built like Pikachu’s house. This design was also included in the popular 2020 remake, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX.

Past LEGO sets with smart bricks sold only in the UK were designed for children ages seven and older. Based on this, and recent information suggesting the new Pikachu LEGO set will be released in summer 2026, we can compare this timing with earlier leaks about other Pokémon LEGO sets. This helps us predict possible set numbers for the new product: 72156, 72158, and 72160. Rumors indicate all three of these sets are scheduled to be released on August 1, 2026.

Recent information suggests LEGO might be renaming “Smart Brick” to “Smart Play.” The first LEGO sets based on Pokémon are anticipated to be released in early March 2026, with LEGO Insiders potentially getting early access to order them starting in late February.
