Okay, so I’m hearing some really cool news – LEGO and Sonic the Hedgehog are teaming up! Apparently, we’re going to get a bunch of new LEGO sets based on Sonic in August 2026. A reliable LEGO insider spilled the beans with some pretty solid details about what’s coming, which is super exciting!
LEGO released its Sonic the Hedgehog collection in August 2023. Since then, they’ve launched 23 different sets. To help promote the new line, LEGO also sent special “Influencer Kits” to some online creators, but these weren’t available in stores. Additionally, three smaller sets came out in 2026 – two in January and one more in February.
2 New LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Sets Reportedly Coming in Summer 2026
LEGO is planning to release at least two more Sonic the Hedgehog sets in the summer of 2026, according to LEGO leaker lego_minecraft_goat. In a recent Instagram post, they revealed details about two unannounced sets expected to launch in August. One set, numbered 77119, will be a model of Tails’ Tornado-1 airplane and is expected to cost $29.99. The other set, 77120, is priced at $49.99, but no other information is currently available.

It seems a bit surprising that LEGO is considering another Tornado plane set (a “Tornado-1”) for 2026, considering they just released one in August 2023. The set, number 76991 Tails’ Workshop and Tornado Plane, had 376 pieces and was designed for children ages six and up. It was available for about 15 months before being discontinued in November 2024.
The 76991 Tails’ Workshop and Tornado Plane cost $39.99, so the new 77119 set might have fewer pieces since it’s expected to be $10 cheaper. The $49.99 price of set 77120 suggests it will contain between 400 and 500 pieces. LEGO recently started its Smart Play system, but neither of the upcoming Sonic sets are likely to include the special “Smart Brick” technology, which is currently only used in a few LEGO lines.

If the expected release date in August holds true, LEGO sets 77119 and 77120 might not be announced until July 2026. But LEGO often reveals products several months before they hit stores, giving fans time to pre-order. As of late February 2026, LEGO still has over six Sonic the Hedgehog sets available for purchase, plus related items like minifigure keychains.
