In a remarkable turn of events, just under two weeks since its release, a player has managed an extraordinary feat in Elden Ring Nightreign by defeating it solely with a shield, coming extremely close to achieving the unprecedented milestone of completing the game without receiving a single hit. This incredible accomplishment is yet another testament to the community’s ingenuity and determination when tackling FromSoftware’s games.
The achievement belongs to Skumnut, a character from the acclaimed Elden Ring game, who is famous for his daring exploits within the fantasy RPG realm. This time, he’s managed to finish a solo run of Nightreign, using only a shield for offensive purposes. Impressive, isn’t it?
The accomplishment is credited to Skumnut, a well-known figure in Elden Ring, who is recognized for his daring feats within the fantasy RPG universe. In this instance, he successfully completed a single-player run of Nightreign, armed with nothing but a shield for defense. Quite remarkable, don’t you think?
On June 7th, I proudly shared a video on Twitter celebrating an extraordinary feat – my final skirmish with Heolstor the Nightlord. The clip captures a series of nimble evasions as I skillfully dodged his colossal assaults. The end result? A mind-boggling finale where it seems like I effortlessly outmaneuvered him and walked away unscathed.
During the initial stage, I skillfully dodged every strike from Heolstor, staying unscathed. In the second phase, I took just four hits, showing my adaptability and resilience. One of his moves has a massive range, but I consistently leap out of its path with remarkable agility.
This marked his 23rd try, and honestly, it’s worth some recognition. Even though I’m familiar with a few FromSoftware games, I can’t fathom how long it might take me to complete this one. It feels like Bloodborne 2 will be released before I’ve managed to finish.
Later on, he notes that he might be able to optimize the performance for an error-free streak. His preferred companion in this endeavor is the Wylder shield, which appears to work effectively with his extensive evasive maneuvers.
In case you haven’t noticed, each round in Nightreign lasts for three consecutive game days. After every day, you confront a minor boss. Following these encounters, you progress towards the Nightlord, the main antagonist, who varies depending on the expedition you select from the Table of the Lost Grace.
Heolstor, the largest and toughest of the Nightreign bosses, is known for its powerful attacks that require quick dodges to avoid. This is likely the section where Skum will struggle most if aiming for a hitless run. If you’d like to emulate his strategy, check out our tips on conquering Nightreign for assistance.
