As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the recent updates for Lightyear Frontier have been nothing short of delightful! The Mech-o’-lantern skin is an absolute treat for Halloween and adds a spooky yet festive touch to the game. It’s always a pleasure to see developers who understand the importance of seasonal content, especially when it comes to creating immersive gaming experiences.
Recently, Lightyear Frontier has seen several updates, including the latest addition of seasonal costume options.
During Halloween, players of Lightyear Frontier can anticipate a unique, seasonally-themed mech collection instead of tricks. The Mech-o’-lantern, adorned with vines, cobwebs, and a carved pumpkin, promises an eerie yet festive addition to the game. This chilling mech is guaranteed to send a shiver down the spine of even the most fearless exofarmer, just in time for Halloween!
Starting today, the developer introduces a permanent feature: the Mechanized Jack-o’-Lantern, an ideal method for players to partake in festive Halloween fun as they manage their homes in Lightyear Frontier. This Mech-o’-lantern appearance is following the launch of the ‘Neighbors and Animals’ update which introduced captivating new characters, creatures, and gameplay elements into the game.
The game was also patched last week, on the 10th of October, and there were some changes:
- Made “Recycling Mode” input rebindable
- Rotated Diane’s Egg Incubator so animals hatched from it won’t get trapped in a small corner (Save files with the Egg Incubator built will have to relocate or rebuild Diane’s home to see this change)
There were also some bug fixes, as follows:
- Fixed certain mech parts being misaligned when attached to the mech
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur when loading a save file where the player was located inside a certain structure
- Fixed half-size Hedge piece not having any collision
- Fixed the Honeybottle Trophy construct using the cost of the Lumbloom Trophy construct
- Fixed several issues with neighbor fences not being placed correctly
- Fixed some voice lines not playing and their subtitles remaining on screen indefinitely in certain situations
- Fixed neighbour fence building objectives sometimes not completing properly (Save files where this has already occurred will be fixed after a few seconds, as long as there’s an outpost assigned to the neighbour)
Currently, Lightyear Frontier is available for early access on PC through Steam, and it’s part of the Xbox Preview Programme as well. You can also find it in the Game Pass.
