In the game “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza“, RGG Studio really outdid themselves by turning Majima’s solo journey into an unmatched level of insanity. This is greatly enhanced by the incorporation of the Dark Instruments.

These are essentially temporary abilities you can summon during a fight, much like the ones you find in role-playing games such as Final Fantasy.

As a gamer, I’ve stumbled upon four unique Dark Instruments, each one bound to a mystical entity. Summoning these beings grants me access to distinct abilities that can turn the tide of battle in my favor.

To get access to all four of them, let’s delve into the tale of Devil Flags first. Shall we embark on this journey together, as I guide you through the steps on how to obtain each item and unravel their unique functions?

The Effects Of Every Dark Instrument

In combat, you can tap into the potential of every Dark Instrument using the Sea Dog technique, provided your madness meter is fully charged.

I have explained the roles that each creature plays within the four tools listed, providing a sense of how they contribute in combat as each one has unique abilities and functions. This will give you an understanding of their impacts during battles.

  • Dark God of the Waves: Summons a plethora of sharks that will cause damage to enemies from underground. The more enemies there are, the more sharks will appear.
  • Dark God of the Deep: Summons a pack of Jellyfish that will heal you and your allies as well as momentarily paralyze nearby enemies.
  • Dark God of the Earth: Summons a giant ape that causes massive damage in a short radius before disappearing.
  • Dark God of the Skies: Summons a parrot that throws enemies upwards with its tornadoes, dealing damage to them.

Amongst all four options, my preferred choice is the Sharks from the Sea Deity, primarily because of their Area of Effect (AOE). The Jellyfish option appears to be more situational since healing can usually be handled by your crew members, but it’s available if needed.

How To Get The Dark God’s Violin

In the course of Chapter 2, you will meet one of Jason’s former companions. Tragically, by the time you encounter this person, they have been brutally killed by the Devil Fleet, leaving them to perish in the arms of their daughter.

In the eastern coast of Madlantis, Majima embarks on a quest for vengeance. It is here where you acquire the Dark God’s Violin, your initial Dark Instrument, following your victory over the Devil Fleet boss ship and looting its treasures.

As I venture forth, I set my sights on Rokka Island next, a place where I’ll engage in an epic sea battle against the Devil Fleet. If I emerge victorious from this crew fight, I’ll be granted my first encounter with each captain of the Devil Fleet.

This entire subplot revolves around seeking vengeance for Misaki’s father, reclaiming the Pharaoh’s Stone, and uncovering all the Dark God Artifacts – these elements form our central concern.

How To Get The Dark God’s Ocarina

To reach Atali Island and meet the captain for our second Dark Instrument, you should initially secure 70 Devil Fleet flags first.

You’ll receive the Devil Fleet Flags as a reward whenever you successfully defeat different Devil Fleet teams on the ocean, ranging from island encounters to battles with identified vessels shown on your map.

Make your way victoriously through the usual battles in this brief area. Once you have successfully finished the final skirmish indicated on the island, you will receive the Dark God’s Ocarina as a reward from the treasure chest.

Well, it seems I’ve got some tough news for you. You see, as soon as we start, you’ll find yourself squaring off against Captain Yakuza and his formidable gang. It’s crucial to take them out before they can cause any more trouble, so get ready for the fight!

How To Get The Dark God’s Guitar

Accessing the Third Dark Instrument is possible only after reaching an island called Flame Heaven, which belongs to another Devil Fleet. Notably, you will require a Pirate rank of three stars and a collection of 130 Devil Fleet flags to get inside.

To obtain the Third Dark Instrument, navigate your way to the Devil Fleet island known as Flame Heaven. To enter this location, you’ll need to have reached Pirate rank level 3 and gather 130 Devil Fleet flags.

Or:

The Third Dark Instrument is hidden on an island called Flame Heaven, part of another Devil Fleet. To visit this place, you must first attain a three-star Pirate rank and amass a total of 130 Devil Fleet flags.

As someone who delved into every bit of additional content along the way, just like myself, you’d probably fulfill the flag condition as soon as the objective is presented to you. Otherwise, it’s high time to set sail and explore for a while.

1. Take possession of every treasure sub-island indicated on the map given. After overcoming the final confrontation, prepare for a naval battle with the First Mate, which lies ahead of the last island.

OR

2. Secure your ownership on each sub-island marked as ‘treasure’ on the provided map. Following the completion of the final encounter, you’ll face a sea battle led by the First Mate before reaching the final island.

Overcome the enemy spaceship, sail with your team of pirates to loot Flame Island for the mysterious treasure chest, which contains the Dark God’s coveted guitar.

How To Get The Dark God’s Saxophone

In order to meet with Captain Shinobi of the Devil Fleet in Frost Heaven and obtain your last Dark Instrument, you will require 220 Devil Fleet Flags and have a Pirate rank of at least four stars.

From my perspective, it’s quite clear that the challenging ratings on these battles within the Devil Fleet call for an exceptionally skilled and robust team. And, when we come to the ultimate clash with Zeus, I can’t stress enough the importance of fielding a top-notch crew. Let’s gather our best warriors and strategists for this epic adventure!

Before proceeding to the Frost Islands, where the treasures lie, you need to first engage and conquer Captain Shinobi’s initial fleet during a sea battle, as was done previously.

Venture bravely across Frost Island’s challenges, and make sure you’re ready for the final confrontation with Shinobi.

How To Defeat Zeus

To defeat Zeus for the final time, you need to gather 330 Devil Fleet Flags and achieve a five-star Pirate rank. Once you’ve accomplished these tasks, you will gain access to Final Heaven.

Prepare for what might be your most challenging fight so far. Ensure that your entire team is robust and at their best. Also, make certain that the Goromaru is maximally upgraded and armed with its most powerful weaponry.

Since Misaki is no longer with your team following her abduction, it’s crucial to find a suitable replacement for her role on the Goromaru.

Reaching the Last Paradise Island directly leads you to Zeus’s initial armada battle and an impending duel with him. It’s highly recommended to equip this location with energy cannons; they’re indispensable given their high damage output.

I selected Saejima, Kaito, Higashi, and Jason as the members of my offshore combat squad. With precision, I defeated Zeus and his henchmen and ensured that I utilized my Madness Gauge to summon a Dark Instrument of preference to assist me during the fight.

Overcoming Zeus will conclude the Devil Fleet saga, and as a reward, you’ll earn the “Comrades Gained En Route” treasure worth an impressive 800,000 reputation points. This treasure is said to be the most precious in the realm of Pirate Yakuza.
