Liquid Lacquer Quest In Silksong (What To Do With Mask Maker)

In *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, once you rescue Tipp and Pill, they’ll start giving Hornet lots of delivery tasks. These quests really challenge your map navigation skills, as they prevent you from teleporting – the Liquid Lacquer quest is a prime example. Here’s a complete guide to the Liquid Lacquer delivery quest, including step-by-step instructions on how to deliver the Liquid Lacquer to the Mask Maker.

How To Deliver Liquid Lacquer In Silksong

In *Silksong*, Tipp and Pill, found above Frey’s shop, will ask Hornet to deliver an item called Liquid Lacquer to the Mask Maker, who lives at the top of Mount Fay. This is a particularly challenging quest, requiring Hornet to travel through some of the game’s most difficult areas and then climb Mount Fay to complete the delivery.

In the upcoming game *Silksong*, the Mask Maker is a character you’ll find living alone on Mount Fay, and they only appear to help you complete the Liquid Lacquer quest.

Even without that challenge, the game also limits you to taking only two hits, making the journey to Mount Fay with the Liquid Lacquer even harder.

So, in order to complete the Deliver Liquid Lacquer quest in Silksong, the rules are:

  • Deliver Liquid Lacquer to Mask Maker in Mount Fay.
  • Liquid Lacquer has 3 HP.

This quest is found in Act 3, meaning the enemies are tougher and can use powerful dark attacks. These attacks can deal damage multiple times, potentially failing the Liquid Lacquer delivery quest instantly. Therefore, it’s crucial to eliminate all enemies in the area before starting the delivery. Pay close attention to the Void Masses you encounter. While clearing the area takes about 10-15 minutes, it’s still faster than having to repeat the quest multiple times.

As a big cinema fan, I’ve learned a little trick while playing! If you go around taking out all the bad guys in an area, definitely skip sitting on any benches you see. Trust me, they’ll just come back if you rest, and you’ll have to fight them all over again!

Mount Fay is particularly challenging due to its many spikes and dangerous obstacles, making the delivery quest difficult for Hornet. It’s best to approach the mountain with full health and the Liquid Lacquer item.

To reach your destination, the recommended path is: Bellhart, followed by Shellwood, the Blasted Steps, Grand Gate, Choral Chambers, The Slab, and finally, Mount Fay.

Begin at Bellhart and follow the same path you took to deliver Courier’s Rasher in *Silksong*.

The main change in Act 3 is that parts of the environment are damaged, but it’s still simple to find a new spot to grapple to or land on.

Once you reach Choral Chambers, stop at the gate that takes you out of the area into the Slab.

Head towards the Slab, aiming to reach the Bellway at the bottom. This will allow Hornet to easily get to Mount Fay, where the challenging parkour course begins.

Once Hornet arrives at Mount Fay in *Silksong*, she’ll face a climbing challenge similar to the one she completed to earn the Faydown Cloak. However, this time it’s simpler thanks to her new Double Jump ability, which makes scaling the mountain much easier. Be warned though: some enemies are tougher, upgraded versions of those she’s faced before, even some that were specifically created to test her grappling hook skills.

Once Hornet finishes climbing Mount Fay, she’ll find a strong wind current that carries her upwards. Ride this current and jump to the left onto a platform, bringing her one step closer to locating the Mask Maker in Silksong.

Although a shortcut across the middle of Mount Fay is quicker, it’s extremely difficult and dangerous to navigate the frozen lakes and obstacles without getting hurt. It’s generally better to stick to the longer, safer path.

After you get across the ledge, you’ll see a slide that leads down to the base of Mount Fay. Jump onto the slide and continue going down until you’re about halfway down.

To find another parkour challenge, go through the small opening on the left. This one involves climbing up to where the Mask Maker lives in *Silksong*. The first tricky part is a high ledge with spikes blocking the way. Jump onto the spikes and hit them to launch Hornet upwards and reach the ledge.

Okay, so after that bit, you get to a Double Jump challenge with Hornet. It’s tricky – you have to jump onto the wall and then hit the jump button *again* at just the right moment. Honestly, I usually skip it! There’s an icy slide to the left, and if you jump onto that, you just need to immediately jump to the other side. Much easier!

After traveling for about 10 to 15 minutes through Pharloom in *Silksong*, you’ll finally be able to reach the Mask Maker and give them the Liquid Lacquer.
