As a seasoned horror gaming enthusiast who has braved countless haunted houses and creepy corridors, I can’t help but feel my heart race with anticipation at the news of Tarsier Studios and THQ Nordic’s new collaboration. Having lived through the chilling experiences of the original Little Nightmares games, I’m eagerly looking forward to the unveiling at Gamescom 2024. The eerie teaser trailer, with its haunting atmosphere and giant pig antagonist, has only served to heighten my excitement.

As a thrilled fan, I’m excitedly looking forward to unveiling the chilling secrets of the fresh horror game from Tarsier Studios at Gamescom on August 20th! This studio, renowned for creating the captivating world of Little Nightmares, has teamed up with THQ Nordic once more. Recently, THQ Nordic held their 2024 Digital Showcase, where they presented a tantalizing lineup of upcoming games. Among these promising titles were a new Darksiders installment, the remake of Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, and a sneak peek at the highly anticipated remake of Gothic. However, it was the mysterious new project from Tarsier Studios that truly grabbed my attention.

Initially, the video game titled “Little Nightmares” was launched in 2017 by Tarsier Studios and Bandai Namco Entertainment. A follow-up was released in 2021, which led to the series becoming well-known. In 2025, another installment is expected. Notably, “Little Nightmares 3” will not be developed by Tarsier Studios because they were acquired by Embracer Group and the rights were kept by Bandai Namco. Instead, Tarsier Studios plans to use the knowledge gained from “Little Nightmares” to create a new horror game.

At THQ Nordic’s 2024 Digital Showcase, an unnamed game was unveiled, accompanied by a teaser trailer. The game details were sparse, with the focus of the trailer being on creating an eerie atmosphere. The trailer predominantly featured dark shadows and faint light, hinting at a barn setting. One of the antagonists or enemies in the game is a colossal pig whose intestines hang out from its stomach. In a chilling voice, the pig warns, “they’re coming.” A full global reveal for this game will take place at Gamescom 2024 on August 20.

Enthusiasts of horror games found Tarsier Studio’s upcoming project captivating, as it bore a similar eerie atmosphere to Little Nightmares. Fans particularly enthused about Little Nightmares 2 were thrilled by the inclusion of the pig character, since, according to the published artwork of the game, the pig was initially intended for the forest area at the beginning but was abandoned. Many speculate that this pig is the same one from the concept and will be revamped for this upcoming title.

As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share some updates about the beloved “Little Nightmares” series. The development of “Little Nightmares 3” is currently underway at Supermassive Games, renowned for their work on “Until Dawn,” “The Quarry,” and “The Dark Pictures Anthology.” Unfortunately, we’ve had to wait a bit longer than expected, as the game has been delayed and is now scheduled for release in 2025.
