Is the Logitech POWERPLAY 2 Worth $119?
When I wrote this review, the POWERPLAY 2 cost $119.99. That’s a pretty high price, especially considering you can get a basic cloth gaming mouse pad from the same company for only $7.99.
So, why is the POWERPLAY 2 more than 12 times the price of a regular mouse pad?
The POWERPLAY 2 features built-in charging technology within the mousepad itself. When plugged in, it wirelessly charges your compatible gaming mouse as you use it. This is done by combining the normal mousepad surface with a hidden charging layer that continuously powers and maintains your mouse’s battery.
Okay, so this thing is pretty big – about 34cm square, so it definitely takes up some room on my desk. The coolest part? It comes with this POWERPLAY 2 base that sits on top, and it has a little light that glows when my mouse is actually charging. It’s super convenient to know it’s working!
Setting up the POWERPLAY 2 is easy. Just place it on your desk and plug it into a USB port (version 2.0 or higher). Then, use the included POWERPLAY 2 Coin with a compatible mouse to get started.
Luckily, there’s a good variety of gaming mice that work with it, but they’re all made by Logitech.

The Logitech POWERPLAY 2 is a really clever device, particularly if you often forget to plug in your gadgets. I won’t have to worry about that anymore! It’s definitely worth the cost, although I realize the price might be too high for some people.
