Actors Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd, who portrayed Merry and Pippin in the series, have recently unveiled their fresh travel and culinary TV program. This show features an additional notable guest from the “Lord of the Rings” universe as well.

In Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, the duo, played by Merry (Monaghan) and Pippin (Boyd), were cast as the lively pair, often finding themselves in all sorts of trouble, particularly when testing Gandalf’s patience. Ever eager for new experiences, Merry and Pippin joined Frodo Baggins on his monumental journey to destroy the ring in Mount Doom’s fires, in Mordor. Although they were momentarily separated during Isengard’s destruction, with Merry staying behind with Aragorn to fight alongside the people of Rohan, these two mischievous companions remained close and became pivotal figures in “The Lord of the Rings” continuously growing storyline. Years have passed since then, and now, Monaghan and Boyd embark on a new adventure – this time in reality – and there may even be room for a second breakfast.

Lord of the Rings Stars New TV Series Shows Meet Up With Gandalf

According to Digital Spy, the stars from The Lord of the Rings have reunited with another legendary actor from the series as they debuted their new television program. Named Billy and Dom: Eat the World, this upcoming adventure will see them journeying around the world to connect with diverse people and create culinary masterpieces, all while maintaining a link to their Hobbit heritage. Much like in the films, Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd will embark on a global quest to discover delectable dishes and immerse themselves in various cultures and experiences. Fingers crossed that this time around, they manage to avoid as much danger as they did when they found themselves scaling towering, ancient trees!

Before the documentary’s release on April 11, 2025, Richard Armitage (Monaghan) and Rob Kazinsky (Boyd) shared a sneak peek on Instagram, featuring glimpses of their travels and encounters with various people. Of course, no Hobbit adventure would be whole without Gandalf, portrayed by Sir Ian McKellen. In one photo, they’re seen enjoying a drink together in a bar, possibly indulging in some local delicacies. Other shots show them taking a dip in an outdoor tub, constructing a large bonfire on the beach, and, surprisingly, receiving knighthood.

Boyd expressed his enthusiasm about channeling their love for travel and novel experiences into this upcoming TV series. Monaghan shared that he has known Billy for more than two decades and has had the privilege of traveling extensively with him. Since their work on “The Return of the King,” they have been seeking a fresh screen project to collaborate on, something fans of their careers might appreciate. Fans of “Lord of the Rings” are equally excited, eagerly anticipating the continuation of Merry and Pippin’s adventures set many years later.
