The latest version for “Lords of the Fallen” is now active on all systems, introducing an optional Player versus Player (PvP) feature to the fantasy action RPG. Players have been asking for this addition since the game first came out in 2023, and the developers of “Lords of the Fallen” have responded by incorporating it as they consistently work on updates based on player input, aiming to maintain a fresh and enjoyable experience.
As a sequel to the 2014 game titled “Lords of the Fallen,” this challenging game has a feel and combat system reminiscent of FromSoftware’s titles like “Dark Souls” and “Bloodborne.” Two years post-launch, its developers, Hexworks, are still releasing significant updates and patches for the game. The June 2025 update for “Lords of the Fallen” resolved numerous annoying bugs, enhanced performance, and optimized PvP matchmaking. More changes have now been implemented, with one modification sure to delight fans of the game.
As a devoted gamer, I’m excited to share that the official account of Lords of the Fallen recently announced on Twitter that they’ve added optional Player vs Player (PvP) in the latest Version 2.0.51 update! This update is now live across all platforms. By default, PvP will be turned off, but you can activate it whenever you’re ready.
What’s more, this update brings new rewards for players who maintain invasions, and a new lamp guidance HUD prompt to make navigation smoother. The gaming community seems thrilled about these changes, with many expressing their intent to revisit the game after a while. This could be a significant boost for the developers, as despite reaching 5.5 million players this month, Lords of the Fallen has yet to turn a profit. Hopefully, attracting new players might finally help the game break even, at the very least.
In May 2024, publisher of the game “Lords of the Fallen,” CI Games, underwent layoffs that resulted in approximately 30 employees being let go. This reduction in workforce seems to be part of ongoing reorganization efforts within the company. Although it appears that the action RPG was not affected by these staff cuts, many fans found the decision puzzling given that “Lords of the Fallen” sold over a million copies in its first 10 days on sale, leading CI Games to report its greatest year-on-year increase in net revenue since its inception.
A follow-up to the game “Lords of the Fallen” is actively being developed, with plans for its release in 2026. It’s been announced that this new version will initially be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store for PC players at launch. The game promises a more commercial art style, enhanced production quality, and a cooperative mode where progress can be shared among players.
