Lost Ark’s 2025 Roadmap Part 3 Will Bring New Progression System, New Advanced Class, And More

Starting from late July, the third phase of the Lost Ark 2025 plan will commence, bringing the Paradise progression system into play soon. This section in the Lost Ark roadmap will be initiated with a variety of new features and adjustments on the horizon.

This year marks the third anniversary of Lost Ark, and the North American/European version of the game is rapidly approaching the level of its original Korean counterpart. To commemorate these milestones, the game has unveiled its ambitious 2025 roadmap, which is now in its third phase. Game Rant recently had a chat with Amazon Games franchise lead Matthew Huston, who shared insights on what players can anticipate from this roadmap in the future. Key highlights include the significant expansion of the Paradise progression system and the upcoming introduction of an advanced class called Valkyrie.

Lost Ark’s 2025 Roadmap Part 3 Explained

Paradise Progression System

Q: How much new content can players expect from Paradise?

In Huston’s explanation, Paradise consists of three unique sections: Elysian, Crucible, and Hell. The Elysian area is where you can gather equipment that’s different from your standard gear. The Crucible is a place to put this new gear to the test as you advance through its ranks, while Hell offers a separate, jackpot-style experience. Paradise continues to evolve in seasons, offering players more than just raiding as a goal and creating additional paths for character progression when playing alternative characters.

Q: What led the team to focus on accelerating player development in Paradise, and how have they ensured that Paradise complements the overall balance of the game’s content?

For those familiar with the game, it’s common knowledge that the final stages can become repetitive. Regardless if you’re a beginner, returning player, or managing lower-level characters, we aimed to introduce additional methods for character advancement without solely resorting to solo play or modifying gold raids. Enter Paradise, a less demanding entry point (gear level 1580), rich in opportunities for both rewards and gold to aid your character’s development. You can continue with solo play, raids, and events simultaneously, but this new system offers more avenues for progression while revitalizing the end-game cycle.

Question: There’s been a lot of buzz about the Paradise progression system, which seems tailored for the international edition of the game. Could you elaborate on the objectives behind its design with regards to the global version?

The development of these updates for Paradise is an ongoing process, with our aim being to assist regions worldwide that face unique challenges in keeping pace with the Korean variant of Lost Ark. Over time, we’ve been striving to match the Korean version more closely, which can at times create pressure for Western players due to reduced content release windows. This can sometimes result in a gap between updates in Korea and the West that is too large. Paradise, however, is designed as seasonal content, excelling in its ability to accommodate adjustments to our roadmap. If you’ve been following LOA ON, you’ll notice changes in direction, and we eagerly anticipate receiving player feedback to further refine this over time.

Q: Paradise is described as being ‘experimental.’ What is precisely meant by this?

This gear is considered experimental as it deviates from the standard progression pattern commonly found in games like Lost Ark. The Legacy of Paradise gear is exclusive and can only be utilized within Paradise/Crucible. Your advancement in Crucible is tied to your Elysian advancement. Much like the Kurzan Front, you’ll be farming “Legacy of Paradise” equipment, and upon finding the perfect piece, you can enhance it using two new mechanisms: Restore and Resonance. Unlike other progressions, this one won’t require gold, but instead, you’ll need restoration stones from farming for the updated progression system. Once a piece reaches level 9 or above, you can refine it further with resonance to modify sub-stats, aiming for an SS rating.

This new content features a seasonal aspect, ranking systems, and perks that enhance your normal advancement even beyond Paradise. We can’t wait to unveil how this content complements our current progression structure, with more specific details coming your way very soon.

Q: Will fans be able to expect any special traits from Legacy of Paradise gear?

As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement! Although we’re saving the complete revelation for another time, let me give you a sneak peek: Legendary-tier or above equipment comes with some extraordinary special effects. Just a little hint, there are 18 of these effects waiting to be uncovered!

Lost Ark’s New Advanced Class

A: Could you provide more details about the improvements coming soon in the game, and which ones do you think will have the greatest or most noticeable effect?

As a devoted player, I’m thrilled to share some exciting Quality-of-Life enhancements that we’ve rolled out recently! The main highlights involve streamlining daily activities: Guardian and Kurzan Front missions have been scaled back to once a day, and Una’s tasks no longer persist beyond the completion of rapport requirements.

Moreover, we’ve taken steps to balance endgame raids, refreshed solo modes, and readjusted costs associated with Advanced Honing and Transcendence for smoother gameplay progression. For instance, materials required for Advanced Honing from levels 1-20 have been halved, and the silver/gold costs have been reduced by 20%.

Stay tuned for even more Quality-of-Life improvements coming in July – our release notes will be filled with exciting updates!

Q: What can fans expect from the Prestige Shop, and what new value will it be offering to players?

A: In our shop, The Prestige Shop, we’ll follow the same structure as other regions by setting prices for items based on Royal Crystal expenditure in the Western region. To show appreciation for your past spending, we’re giving Mileage points back for the Royal Crystals spent on your account from when we launch until this feature is rolled out. This conversion rate will be 10%, and you’ll also earn extra mileage points based on future Royal Crystal purchases. We’ll reveal the complete list of shop items at a later time.

What features or characteristics might viewers find in Valkyrie that they can look forward to, and how does her appearance or animation style differ from that of Paladin?

As a fan, I can say that while Valkyrie shares some similarities with Paladin in terms of general combat and movement, she stands out as a versatile character who can excel both as a support or damage dealer. Unlike Paladin, who primarily focuses on support, Valkyrie offers a more dynamic playstyle. Her mobility is particularly noteworthy and adds an extra layer of fun to gameplay. Plus, when she officially launches, we’ve got an exciting event planned that will make leveling her up a breeze!

Question: How effective has the implementation of a roadmap system been for the team? What advantages does utilizing a roadmap have for an online game compared to maintaining updates more secretively?

We employ a roadmap system due to the significant advantages it offers. Our roadmap videos and team updates provide transparency to our players, allowing them to stay informed about upcoming content, such as new classes like Valkyrie. Since content in Korea is released months before us, there’s not much secrecy surrounding these new classes. The roadmap approach enables us to address questions from Western players while maintaining some elements of surprise for bigger reveals or engagement opportunities.
