A new update is available now for *Lost Soul Aside* on PC and PlayStation 5. This update fixes several problems that players have been experiencing, particularly issues with how the game runs. Many negative reviews were due to performance problems, and this patch is designed to make gameplay smoother and improve the overall experience.
After being delayed earlier in the year, *Lost Soul Aside* launched on August 29th, and players are excited to try this unique game inspired by *Final Fantasy* and *Devil May Cry*. In the game, you play as Kaser, who must rescue his sister, Louisa, and protect humanity from the Voidrax – mysterious invaders with the power to steal human souls. The game began as a one-person project by developer Yang Bing, but grew into a team effort when Sony announced it would be featured as part of the China Hero Project, which supports Chinese game developers.
Since the game launched, the development team has released several updates to improve performance and fix issues. The latest patch, 1.009, refines the game further on both PlayStation 5 and PC. This update addresses problems like jarring music transitions during cutscenes and UI elements not displaying correctly on ultra-wide monitors. PC players who had trouble claiming their pre-order and Deluxe Edition bonuses on the Epic Games Store should now be able to access them.
Despite a lot of excitement before its release, initial reviews for *Lost Soul Aside* have been mixed, largely due to performance problems on PC. The developers are working to fix issues like choppy cameras, visual glitches, and frame rate drops, which are still bothering many players. Currently, the game has an average score of 63 on OpenCritic. While players generally enjoy the combat, they’ve expressed concerns about the story, characters, world, and level layouts.
With the holidays just around the corner, PlayStation 5 is getting a boost of new games. *Silent Hill f* and *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* will be available starting September 25th, and October will begin with the release of *Ghost of Yotei*. Plus, *Battlefield 6* and *Ninja Gaiden 4* are both launching next month, giving players lots of exciting options.
