The epic saga of the “One Piece” series, specifically the Elbaf storyline, is well in motion, with fans bracing for a series of thrilling confrontations that lie ahead for Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates. The challenges facing them in Elbaf mark a significant milestone, one that surpasses anything encountered during their previous adventures at Egghead. While Egghead presented intriguing opportunities, it was never destined to be a battleground of monumental proportions. Luffy and his crew had always aimed to rescue Vegapunk and make a swift exit from Egghead, which they managed successfully. However, the objective in Elbaf is distinctly different.
In this storyline, there won’t be any escape options available, leading Luffy and his crew to give their absolute best. Notably, Captain Straw Hat Luffy is expected to engage in his first full-scale battle right here in Elbaf. Spectators are eagerly anticipating this intense confrontation, as they know Luffy will unleash all his power. Moreover, viewers understand that Luffy tends to discover new abilities when he faces formidable opponents, so we can expect him to develop additional powers during this fight.
Luffy Needs More Than Gear 5 To Succeed
- Gear 5 Is A Massive Power
- Luffy Lacks Stamina And Haki
In the Wano Country Arc of One Piece, Luffy obtained his final major power-up, where he battled and overcame Kaido, the Yonko. This epic battle tested the Straw Hat Pirates to their utmost limits, yet they demonstrated remarkable resilience throughout the arc. The crew, as well as Luffy himself, continued to grow stronger with each passing moment. During this arc, Luffy not only progressed in his Ryuo and learned the technique of Supreme King Infusion, but he also unlocked Gear 5. Undeniably, the power of Gear 5 is immense, stemming from his Devil Fruit Awakening, and it grants Luffy an impressive transformation. Indeed, Gear 5 significantly increases Luffy’s powers to a degree where he can sometimes even outmatch Kaido in combat. However, as Kaido himself admitted, Gear 5 alone isn’t sufficient for Luffy to claim the title of Pirate King. Haki, too, is crucial.
Its name was changed to erase it from the annals of history. — The Five Elders
Of course! It’s no wonder I’m always amazed by Luffy’s incredible Haki abilities. You see, this lad isn’t just any ordinary pirate; he’s mastered every type of Haki, pushing each one to the highest level known as Supreme King Haki. Quite impressive, wouldn’t you agree?

However, it should be noted that there are levels at which Haki can be achieved. Although Luffy’s Haki skills are impressive, they are not yet the strongest, and he requires further advancement if he aspires to become the Pirate King. This is why his upcoming power-up will primarily focus on enhancing his abilities with Haki.
The Next Power Up Has To Be Supreme King Haki
Oda Has Already Laid The Blueprint For The Level That Luffy Needs To Reach
Without a doubt, Luffy must significantly increase his strength in the Final Saga of One Piece. While he is currently powerful, it’s clear that he’s not yet strong enough to match characters like Imu or even defeat the Elders, as seen earlier with Egghead. However, Oda has provided a roadmap for Luffy to achieve greater power in the future by demonstrating how Joy Boy’s Haki could harm the Elders and nullify their abilities, including incapacitating the Vice Admirals. It’s evident that Luffy needs to reach this level of power, and Elbaf will help him gradually work towards it.
Regarding One Piece, we’ve made it to Elbaf at last! It’s a peaceful kingdom, but that peace might soon be disrupted by the arrival of an important character! On the other hand, there will also be chaos in various seas. Lastly, expect one significant figure to start causing global turmoil! Brace yourself as the excitement for 2025’s One Piece promises to leave you breathless! Keep an eye out for a fantastic year ahead in One Piece! – Eiichiro Oda
A key point to remember about Supreme King Haki is that it cannot be honed specifically like Armament or Observation Haki. Unlike those forms of Haki, consistent practice does not enhance its power. Instead, it can only become more potent as the user themselves gains strength. So, the more Luffy grows in power, the stronger his Conqueror’s Haki will become.
I may not have mastered these techniques myself yet, but I can confidently say that Luffy still has room to grow in his Supreme King Haki skills. Although the raw power of Haki tends to develop organically, the specific techniques can certainly be acquired, and there are indeed some that Luffy could potentially learn in the future.
The Advanced Long-Ranged Conqueror’s Haki
A crucial skill Luffy needs to fully grasp is the art of long-range Haki. This talent, beautifully displayed by Shanks following the Wano Country Arc, is nothing short of impressive. With this ability, he could send his Haki to a distant location, even from miles away. To be equally precise as Shanks, Luffy should work on mastering this technique.
The Ability To Kill Observation Haki
One remarkable use of Conqueror’s Haki is its potential to nullify Observation Haki. In other words, a highly advanced form of Conqueror’s Haki enables the user to manipulate their own aura and thereby shield themselves from foreseeing events related to them. This is an astonishing ability, and as you might have guessed, only Shanks has been shown to possess this power in the One Piece universe. Luffy would greatly benefit from mastering this skill if he hopes to fully harness the power of Haki within One Piece.
The Power To Knock Out Vice Admiral Level Enemies
Absolutely, it’s reasonable to expect that Luffy’s total Haki prowess will increase during his time in Elbaf, and I believe it will indeed happen. It’s important to note that Conqueror’s Haki, unlike the other two types, cannot be trained traditionally. Instead, it becomes stronger with the user as they do. So, as Luffy faces opponents such as Loki and possibly even Shamrock, along with others, and his strength grows, so too will his Haki. If this growth in power is substantial, fans can confidently anticipate that Luffy would be capable of overpowering Marines’ Vice Admirals.
Without a doubt, the encounter between Luffy and Shanks is drawing near, so it’s crucial that he enhances his Haki abilities even more. The events in Elbaf are significant for Luffy as he aims to acquire all the Haki upgrades if he is serious about overpowering Shanks.
