Luma Island: How to Bring a Flower Back from the Brink of Death

Luma Island: How to Bring a Flower Back from the Brink of Death

After countless hours spent traversing the lush landscapes of Luma Island, I’ve finally stumbled upon one of its most elusive puzzles – the Dying Flower. This little beauty is nestled away in each biome like a hidden treasure, and it took me quite a while to figure out how to save it from certain doom.

In the world of Luma Island, many puzzles are straightforward and become apparent once you unearth fresh environments or fell trees. However, there is one mystery that often lies inconspicuously tucked away, rarely drawing attention to itself or hinting at a solution.

Here’s a solution for the unique puzzle in Luma Island known as The Withered Blossom Riddle, linked to the ‘Revive a Fading Flower’ achievement. If you’ve noticed these flowers scattered across your exploration but weren’t sure what action to take, I’ll guide you through the process of solving it.

How to Save The Dying Flower

Revitalizing the Withered Blossom on Luma Island involves giving it a daily watering for approximately three consecutive game days to help it flourish. When the flower reaches its full potential, a treasure chest will magically appear, offering delightful rewards as a result of your nurturing efforts. The trickiest part of unraveling the Withered Blossom enigma lies in locating it within each unique biome.

The Farm

To locate the Withered Blossom from the Farm, make your way towards the Abode of Fungi. After leaving his establishment, veer westward, but stick to the northern border of the map as your guide. Keep going along this route and you’ll likely stumble upon the blossom concealed behind a pile of stone.

If you’ve arrived in your caravan, you can take an alternate route similar to that of the Ancient Farm Temple. Instead of going straight, veer eastward. Keep moving alongside the northern wall until you see a flower. Water it regularly for approximately three days, and upon its growth, you’ll find a treasure chest waiting to be opened.

The Forest

To locate the Fading Blossom nestled within the Woods, you may have to create fresh routes along your journey. For first-time visitors, simply follow the primary path ahead until you encounter a sizable stream flowing through the heart of the Woods. Upon reaching this point, direct your course towards the north and seek out a modest cavern that allows entry. Travel through this cavern, ensuring you’re well-equipped with torches, until you emerge on the opposite side of the river, and there, you shall find the elusive Fading Blossom.

Circling back towards the water, head in reverse of your initial direction. You’ll spot a big tree that can be toppled from this side, providing a shortcut across the river. After turning around, carry on going East until you reach a muddy river. Here, you can traverse the mud river by hopping between rocks and using makeshift wooden planks. Once you’ve crossed the mud river, stick to the East path.

If you find yourself at the beach, you’ve likely ventured past your intended destination. The elusive Dying Flower lies nestled in the foliage on a hill directly above the beach. It’s tucked close to a trio of mushrooms, camouflaged among the trees at the far eastern edge of the Forest map.

The Mountain

Upon arriving at the Mountain, start by taking the eastern trail to locate the Withered Blossom in this area. Unlike navigating the Forest, there’s no need to explore multiple routes or create new paths to find it, but do stay vigilant as it might be hard to spot.

The shop belonging to the Mushroom Man is situated in close proximity to small ponds where Granite Groupers can be found. As you continue, the Withered Flower will appear just beyond his store and these ponds. Just follow the trail ascending the Mountain, but remember to watch out for the Withered Flower on your left side as you climb.

The Jungle

Navigating to The Jungle in Luma Island is significantly tougher than locating the Dying Flower here, but don’t worry, you’ll have to do some exploration to find it. As soon as you arrive at the Jungle, look for a river that lies ahead in your initial area. You can mostly walk through this, so wade through and follow the river until you reach dry ground again. At this point, you should notice large flowers with spinning blade-like leaves. Avoid these and take a sharp left instead, walking up a narrow path to ascend the hill’s summit.

As you reach the summit of the hill, take a loop around this little pond, then carry on along the trail. You’ll spot the Dying Flower on your right side after the pond. If you stay alert, it should be quite noticeable.
