As an experienced adventurer who has traversed through countless treacherous terrains and solved mind-boggling puzzles, I must say that the instructions provided for these ancient temples are nothing short of intriguing! The path to enlightenment, or in this case, the Ancient Forest Temple, seems to be filled with challenges that will test my wits and agility.
Luma Island isn’t packed with tales, but it does hide mysteries waiting to be unveiled on the island and within the town. You can unearth these secrets by locating four Ancient Keys scattered around. These keys can only be acquired by unlocking the Ancient Temples hidden in each of the distinct environments on the island.
At The Ancient Farm Temple, you’ll discover your initial key. However, by the time you reach The Forest, you’ll have to unearth three Forgotten Tablets to open the temple door in Luma Island that conceals the next Ancient Key. These tablets aren’t easy to locate, and you’ll need to solve various challenges and battle opponents before you can obtain them. Here is a guide to help you find them all.
Forgotten Tablet A Location
In the Overgrown Forest Temple’s depths lies the first Tablet. There are a total of three Tablets hidden within this temple, each functioning as a mini-labyrinth where you must decipher puzzles and carefully traverse treacherous chambers to reach the end. This temple is nestled on the South-Western edge of The Forest, right before you cross the vast river leading to the other side. By following the path to your right from the Forest’s entrance and continuing forward, you’ll eventually discover it.
To open the Temple, you need to give offerings of Spirits and some materials to the two braziers right in front of the temple. You need to complete the entire Temple in order to get the tablet, and here’s how to get through each room:

| 6 | Rotate the fire breathing statue on the left twice, then go around to rotate the statue on the right once. Loop around to the other side, and rotate the right-side statue again to walk past it. Walk toward the third statue and rotate it once. Loop around again to the other side of the third statue and rotate it once again, then rotate the last statue so you can get to the door. |
| 7 | There are small gaps alongside the wall that you can use to get past the rolling spike traps. Just be careful – because the gap on the left holds a trap which drops a rock on you. |

Forgotten Tablet B Location
In the Deserted Forest Temple, the second tablet is hidden, but locating it involves crossing a river first. To accomplish this, start at the forest’s entrance and follow the path to your right. When you reach the river, veer left and enter the Lost Forest Cave. Traverse the cave until you emerge on the opposite side of the river. Before proceeding further, circumnavigate the nearby pond and locate a large fallen tree that can be pushed over for a convenient passage across the river.
To reach the Temple, make your way to the farthest edge of the Forest where you’ll spot the entrance. To unlock it, locate statues that resemble birds on either side and align them so they face a towering crystal overhead. Upon entering, you’ll encounter various chambers with puzzles to solve in order to retrieve the Ancient Tablet that has been forgotten.

| 6 | Kill the mushroom on the right side of the room, then hop between the two spike traps on the floor. |
| 7 | Go immediately right when you enter the room and follow the path to rotate the fire-breathing statue once. Loop back to the entrance, and go up the stairs in front of the wall trap. Follow the path and rotate the second fire-breathing statue once. Then follow the path from the entrance to the other side of the room to flip the switch and open the door. |
| 8 | There are gaps along the walls where the spike traps are moving so you can get past them and rotate the fire-breathing statues on either side. |
| 9 | Kill the bats and grab the Ancient Book in this room. |
| 10 | There are small blocks in the middle of the large spike traps where you can rest and dodge the traps. |
| 11 | You made it to the last room! Pick up the treasure chest and Tablet, and leave the Temple. |
Forgotten Tablet C Location
The last forgotten Tablet can be found in the Hidden Forest Temple. This is deeper into The Forest, and you can get there by finding the mud river on the East side of the Forest and crossing it. The mud will suck you in if you spend too much time in it, so make sure to walk toward the rocks and planks as you cross it. Once you’ve reached the other side, travel right to the South-Western corner of The Forest, and you should see the Temple hiding here.
To operate it, you should toggle the levers on two surrounding statues within a given timeframe. For smoother movement, remember to clear away any Mushrooms using your whip to maintain stability and avoid slowing down as you move between the statues. After flipping both levers, you can then proceed through the Temple.

Navigate through the room and rotate the remaining statues so you can get through the door. If you ever get lost, you can reset the room at the switch after the first two statues. |

Navigate slightly back until you see a large rock, destroy it, and then follow the pathway down the stairs. First, head right and rotate the third statue by the entrance once. Loop completely back to where you came from, following the path, and rotate the remaining three statues once. Now, head all the way back to the entrance and go down the stairs on the right, and you’ll reach the exit. |

Near the forest entrance, you’ll stumble upon the Ancient Forest Temple.
