As a seasoned player of Fields of Mistria, I can attest to the captivating charm this game holds, from its lush landscapes to its intricate mechanics. One such delightful aspect is the insect collecting feature, which adds an engaging layer to the farming simulation experience. However, as with many rare species, catching the elusive Luna Moth can be a challenge for even the most dedicated players.
In the world of Mistria, players enjoy a diverse range of activities including fishing and insect collecting. Similar to fish and foraged items, the presence of insects in Mistria is affected by the season and time of day, which can sometimes make bug hunting tedious if you’ve missed the right season. You’ll encounter common insects like caterpillars and ants almost anywhere, but rare species such as the Luna Moth will demand patience. The Luna Moth is part of the Spring Insect Set, so it’s essential to catch it if you’re aiming to complete the Insects Wing at the museum.
How to Get Luna Moth
Tips for Catching Luna Moth
As a gamer in the enchanting world of Mistria, I find myself on the hunt for the elusive Luna Moth come springtime. In this digital realm, the cloak of night descends at 8:00 PM. If my goal is solely to capture the Luna Moth, I can manipulate time using the Mill to leapfrog ahead to the witching hour.
You might consider delaying the arrival of the Luna Moth until your second year. In your first year, you’ll likely find yourself occupied with establishing your barn and completing story-based quests aimed at unlocking town features like enhancing the store. By your second year, you should be well-acquainted with the world of Mistria, which will allow for more leisurely time to focus on collections.
How to Set In-Game Screen Display
You’ll want to set your In-Game Screen to 1x, so here’s how to do just that:
- Open the menu (use M-key) and selecting the Settings/Gear tab.
- Choose the In-Game Display option (default should be 3x), and change it to 1x.
In 1x mode, you’ll get a broader view of your surroundings, but the character sprites will appear smaller due to the zoomed-out perspective. Don’t worry though, because the Luna Moth flies around, making it easier for you to spot it. If finding things is difficult in 1x view, feel free to switch to 2x mode instead. Exploring outside of 3x mode means you won’t have to sprint to every nook and cranny of the landmark to see what’s there. Once you’ve captured the Luna Moth, you can reset your settings back to their original state.

How to Donate
As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the enchanting Luna Moth I’ve collected can be donated to The Narrows Museum, where it will join the Spring Insect Set, a delightful assortment including the Butterfly, Caterpillar, Roly Poly, and Ladybug. The perks for donating the entire set differ based on the number of wings you’ve completed.
