Lyle Fading Bond Quest Guide in Code Vein 2

Okay, so I just took down Lyle in Code Vein 2, and like with all the other heroes you find scattered around, I got his Fading Bond. Sadly, I can’t actually do anything with it right now. What’s kinda cool is that his questline to fully restore the bond is shorter than some of the others, but don’t let that fool you – the boss fights are still tough! I spent a lot of tries on them, especially since I was a bit underpowered. I’m putting together a guide below to walk you through everything you need to do to get Lyle’s Fading Bond fully restored in Code Vein 2.

The guide below contains spoilers for the main story of Code Vein 2.

How to Repair Lyle’s Fading Bond (Lyle Quest Guide) in Code Vein 2

After the battle, quickly travel to MagMell and return to the 2187: Free Exploration Era area. Then, go to the Forward Base One: North Mistle, where you’ll find Lyle. Speak with him, and he’ll suggest creating a grave.

Return to the present and go back to the Mistle you were at before. You’ll now see a glowing item – Lyle’s Rusted Sword – next to the grave. Take the sword, then interact with the fading bond to travel back in time again.

Previously, you needed to quickly travel to Pioneer Castle and speak with Craig, who’s standing near the Mistle labeled “In Front of Command Room.” He’ll tell you about new dangers and that Lyle has gone to a mine to the northwest. After a short scene, Craig will join your party, and you’ll need to head down to the entrance of the Sealed Great Mine.

Go into the mine located northwest of Pioneer Castle to find Lyle. You’ll then need to explore the dungeon inside. Keep an eye out for chests containing Formae and weapons – they can be helpful! When you reach a blocked path, interact with the glowing bond to trigger a memory. After that memory plays out, prepare yourself for a boss fight.

Once you’ve beaten the boss, you’ll unlock the Pioneer Queen Imogen Blood Code and form an alliance with Craig. You’ll also earn the Guardian trophy/achievement. Then, you can return to the present and travel to Pioneer Castle, where you’ll unlock the An Undying Vow trophy/achievement.

You’ll find only one Mistle you can use to fast travel here. Once you arrive near the cocoon, take the elevator on the left. After that, speak with Craig – he’ll join you to help break the seal and defeat Hero Lyle.

Approach the cocoon and break the seal to start the boss battle. The first part of the fight is relatively easy, but the boss can quickly close the distance between you. He becomes much more powerful in the second phase and uses attacks that cover a large area, so it’s important to keep moving. If you win, you’ll receive the Hero Lyle Blood Code.

Defeating Hero Lyle will earn you the “A Journey Beyond Measure” trophy and finish his fading bond quest.
