M80 Acquires Beastcoast and Throws Manchester R6 Major Champs Out in the Cold

As a long-time follower and supporter of Beastcoast, this recent turn of events has left me feeling a tad bewildered, much like the remnants of their Rainbow Six Siege team that finds itself without an organization ahead of the Six Invitational 2025. The triumphant victory at the BLAST R6 Major in Manchester earlier this year still echoes in my memory, and it’s disheartening to see the team’s meteoric rise followed by such a sudden fall.

M80 has made a strategic shift by taking over Beastcoast, expanding their esports portfolio to include Dota 2, Pokémon, and other related games. This diverse lineup will now also include Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike 2, VALORANT, but the transition hasn’t been without its challenges.

The team that triumphed at the BLAST R6 Major in Manchester, England earlier this year, formerly known as Beastcoast’s Rainbow Six Siege squad, finds themselves without a team to compete for at the Six Invitational 2025, an event rapidly approaching.

Last-Minute Change

M80 posted on social media:

M80 takes great pleasure in announcing that we’ve successfully purchased Beastcoast, along with their esports and multimedia operations. Looking forward to having them join our M80 family!

In June, I found myself teaming up with Cloud9 in the Rainbow Six Siege arena, getting ready for the Esports World Cup. Unfortunately, our partnership didn’t lead to the success we were hoping for, as we missed out on qualifying for the EWC. The partnership was brief, but it did mark a new chapter for us. As per the announcement by M80, some crucial members of my previous team, Beastcoast, are being transferred, which is great news for them. However, it’s unfortunate that this move doesn’t bode well for me and others who were part of the Beastcoast roster.

Under the terms of the purchase, M80 is set to take over various aspects of Beastcoast’s esports activities, such as their leading Dota 2 team, a significant portion of their Pokemon-related media operations within the gaming industry, and crucial personnel including CEO Grant Zinn.

At M80, Zinn has been appointed to the position of Chief Business Development Officer. In this capacity, he will contribute significantly to M80’s growth by focusing on expanding their presence in underrepresented areas within the esports industry, such as Pokemon and rapidly developing regions like South America.

The primary three members of Beastcoast – Hotancold, SpiriTz, and Gaveni – find themselves without a team after this shift. They’ve chosen to stay united, bringing in a couple more players, but at the moment, they lack a team banner for the Six Invitational, set for Boston in February.

Previous members of the Beastcoast roster, dfuzr and Gunnar, have unknown futures ahead of them.

This year, it was underdogs Beastcoast who triumphed against Team BDS in a surprising outcome at the BLAST R6 Major held in Manchester. This victory marked the first time that the organization has secured a trophy in Rainbow Six.
