As a longtime football enthusiast and Madden player since the early 2000s, I can honestly say that this year’s Madden NFL 25 has me truly excited! The introduction of Travis Kelce into the 99 Club yet again solidifies his position as one of the game’s best. I remember when he was just a rookie back in Madden 13, and now look at him!

EA Sports has disclosed the rating for Travis Kelce, a well-known American football player, in Madden NFL 25. For the second time, he is among the top-rated players in the game. Right now, EA Sports is promoting Madden NFL 25 by announcing the overall scores of prominent players during Ratings Week, leading up to its release on August 16.

To kick off Ratings Week, EA unveiled the top 10 standout wide receivers and safeties in Madden NFL 25. At the forefront among wide receivers is Tyreek Hill from the Miami Dolphins, who has been inducted as the first player into the prestigious 99 Club – an elite group of exceptional NFL players boasting the highest overall statistics in each iteration of this enduring franchise. Conversely, Jessie Bates III takes the lead among safeties with a rating of 97 points.

Regarding the prestigious 99 Club, it’s hardly a shocker that Travis Kelce has re-joined its ranks. This marks the fourth time Kelce has been given a 99 rating in Madden, solidifying his status as one of the top players currently active. George Kittle, a standout tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, follows closely behind with an OVR of 97 – a score that surpasses his Madden NFL 24 rating by at least one point.

Top 10 Tight Ends in Madden NFL 25

  1. Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs): 99 OVR
  2. George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers): 97 OVR
  3. Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens): 94 OVR
  4. T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings): 91 OVR
  5. David Njoku (Cleveland Browns): 90 OVR
  6. Evan Engram (Jacksonville Jaguars): 88 OVR
  7. Sam LaPorta (Detroit Lions): 86 OVR
  8. Dallas Goedert (Philadelphia Eagles): 85 OVR
  9. Dalton Schultz (Houston Texans): 84 OVR
  10. Cole Kmet (Chicago Bears): 83 OVR

Speaking of rankings updates, EA unveiled the top ten cornerbacks yesterday as well. Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets is leading with an overall rating (OVR) of 97, followed closely by Jalen Ramsey from Miami and Patrick Surtain II from Denver, who have OVRs of 96 and 95 respectively. Previously ranked first among cornerbacks in Madden NFL 24, Ramsey has been dethroned by Gardner, who was honored with a Pro Bowl and All-Pro first team selection last season.

As a longtime fan of Madden NFL series, I must admit that I have been feeling rather unimpressed with the recent iterations of the game. The same mechanics year after year can get a bit monotonous, and I find myself craving something fresh and exciting to breathe new life into this beloved franchise. That’s why I am eagerly anticipating the release of Madden NFL 25, as the developers at EA Sports have announced they are introducing BOOM Tech, a revolutionary gameplay engine that promises to overhaul the movement physics and animations for a more realistic football experience.
