Mafia: The Old Country Release Date Revealed on Steam

According to a recent blog post on Steam, it appears that Mafia: The Old Country is set for release on August 8, 2025, narrowing down its previous release window of 2025.

Initially hinted during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event in August, Mafia: The Old Country was later showcased more thoroughly in December 2024 at The Game Awards. With Take-Two preparing a series of releases, Mafia: The Old Country, Borderlands 4, and GTA 6 are all expected to debut within a short span of time from each other.

A recent post on Steam announces that the creators will be broadcasting a live event during PAX on May 8th. This event will cover the history, current status, and upcoming plans for their franchise, which has been around for an impressive 23 years.

At the base of the post, it reads:

For the first time, we’ve received a concrete timeline for the launch of Mafia: The Old Country. Previously, our work had been centered around the ambiguous timeframe of ‘2025’, making it as unspecific as possible.

In “Mafia: The Old Country,” players embark on an adventure tracing the roots of the Sicilian crime syndicate in the early 1900s. This trip through history is expected to be intense, captivating, and visually impressive as a game. It’s being developed by Hanger 13, the team behind Mafia III, Mafia: Definitive Edition, and TopSpin 2K25.

One of those games is not like the other.

I’m really looking forward to this eagerly-awaited game, which marks a new addition to the series since 2016’s Mafia III caused quite a stir. Personally, I can hardly contain my excitement!
