Moreover, many of these cards boast unique thematic abilities connected to their character, for instance, “Doc Ock, Sinister Scientist” transforming into a formidable 8/8 creature when the player has eight or more cards in their graveyard. The latest addition to Magic‘s Spider-Man deck will include a novel “Web-Slinging” mechanic, enabling players to play cards at an alternative cost by also moving a previously activated creature back to their hand. The “Mayhem” feature allows players to play a card from their discard pile if they discarded it intentionally during that turn. A brand-new card called “The Soul Stone” will introduce the “Harness” ability, which permanently activates an ability by paying its initial cost.   • Web-Slinging: You may cast cards with Web-Slinging for an alternative cost if you also return a tapped creature you control to its owner’s hand.
  • Mayhem: You may cast cards with Mayhem from your graveyard for an alternative cost if you discarded it during the same turn. Timing rules still apply.
  • Connive: Draw a card, then discard a card. If you discard a nonland card, put a +1/+1 counter on that creature.
  • Double-Sided Cards with Transform: Double-sided cards with Transform can be played on either side, with one side having an ability to transform into the other side.
  • Modified Creatures: Equipment, Auras you control, and counters are modifications.

The abundance of novel mechanics within the Spider-Man collection appear designed for diverse applications across its assorted cards. Several versions of Spider-Man in the set make use of Web-Slinging, enabling players to expeditiously play stronger creatures by leaping into action.
