As a long-time Magic: The Gathering fan, I’ve seen some weird stuff happen with their different worlds and collaborations, but this latest Secret Lair situation is really something. Everyone was so excited about the Monster Hunter cards, it was a hugely requested crossover! But the reaction was so negative that Wizards of the Coast suddenly put the whole thing on hold – they haven’t even said when it might come out now. It’s pretty shocking!
As a huge Magic: The Gathering fan, I was pretty bummed to see the news on the Wizards website! The Secret Lair superdrop, which was supposed to come out in December, has been delayed all the way to 2026. Apparently, they’re working with Capcom to completely redesign it. We don’t know exactly how much they’re changing yet – whether it’s a total overhaul or just some adjustments – but Wizards says we’ll hear more details in the next few months. It’s a long wait, but hopefully it’ll be worth it!
More to follow.
