Magic: The Gathering Announces New Untold Stories Comic Series About Jace Beleren
A new comic book series, Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace, has been announced. It focuses on Jace Beleren, a powerful character known as a Planeswalker with mind-reading abilities. Published by Dark Horse Comics and Wizards of the Coast, the series will be four issues long, with the first issue available on February 4, 2026. Fans can pre-order the first issue now at their local comic book stores for $4.99. Several cover designs for Issue #1, created by artists Caitlin Yarsky, Francesco Francavilla, and Aleksi Briclot, have also been revealed, offering a glimpse into the upcoming series.
The new comic book, Magic: The Gathering: Untold Stories—Jace, is written by award-winning author Michael W. Conrad and features art by Yarsky. Clayton Cowles handled the lettering, and Alex Guimarães provided the colors. The story will explore Jace’s past and lost memories, revealing a plot by his mentor, Tezzeret, that could have huge consequences for the entire Magic: The Gathering Multiverse. Conrad expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying he’s been captivated by Jace’s story and lore.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Issue #1, which is actually the second part of the Untold Stories series. Dark Horse Comics previously released a four-issue series focusing on Elspeth and her experiences in the underworld. That story should keep readers engaged while they wait for the next installment, focusing on Jace, which will be released next year.
