Magic: The Gathering unveiled three fresh Green Goblin-inspired cards based on Spider-Man, namely Pumpkin Bombardment, Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider, and Oscorp Industries. These cards, depicting the iconic Spider-Man villain’s weapon, vehicle, and base, enable Magic: The Gathering players to inflict chaos and devastation in their gameplay decks.
For some time now, the game Magic: The Gathering has been venturing into a variety of universes, such as Doctor Who, Transformers, Dungeons & Dragons, and Final Fantasy. Its upcoming expansion within the Universes Beyond MTG series is titled Marvel’s Spider-Man, which introduces the friendly neighborhood superhero and his adversaries to the trading card game, making it their 107th card set.
The peak season for this Magic: The Gathering set is upon us, and three of the new cards seem like they’ll be a lot of fun to play with. IGN has unveiled a series of cards themed around the Green Goblin, featuring the Pumpkin Bombardment Sorcery, Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider Equipment, and Oscorp Industries Land. These cards represent his favorite weapons, iconic vehicle, and headquarters respectively.
Green Goblin Gear in Magic: The Gathering x Spider-Man
- Pumpkin Bombardment
- Rocket-Powered Goblin Glider
- Oscorp Industries
Each card in this collection either relies on or complements the Mayhem ability, allowing you to play it from your graveyard if it was discarded during the same turn. This set introduces four unique versions of Green Goblin: Norman Osborn transforming into Classic Green Goblin, Green Goblin, Nemesis, Ultimate Green Goblin, and Green Goblin, Revenant. All these cards share the Mayhem ability and discard mechanisms across Blue, Black, and Red color schemes. When combined with existing Goblin cards in Magic: The Gathering, they could create a potent deck.
Additionally, some captivating card unveilings for Marvel’s Spider-Man have also been made recently. The Heart-Wrenching Death of Gwen Stacy, an MTG card portraying one of Spider-Man’s most tragic moments, was recently disclosed, along with the Friendly Neighborhood Aura Enchantment and Villainous Wrath Sorcery. While the Final Fantasy Magic: The Gathering set has certainly set a high standard for Universes Beyond, given the wealth of iconic characters, villains, and memorable scenes from the famous comic series, Spider-Man might just possess the ingredients to outshine it.
Marvel’s Spider-Man makes his debut in Magic: The Gathering on September 26. Although most of the cards in this collection have already been unveiled, there are a few that remain hidden. It is anticipated that these remaining cards will be revealed over the coming weeks before the set’s launch.
