A recently shared image claiming to show Leon S. Kennedy in a new look for the rumored game, *Resident Evil Requiem*, has been confirmed as fake. Since rumors about the popular character returning in the upcoming game began, fans have been constantly discussing what role he might play.
Resident Evil Requiem is a highly anticipated game set to release on February 27, 2026. The game will star Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of a character from Resident Evil: Outbreak. Fans are also excited about rumors that Leon S. Kennedy, a popular character from the series, will be playable. While a leak recently claimed to confirm his appearance, that information has since been proven false.
Recent leaks claiming to show images from *Resident Evil Requiem* – including Leon with an eyepatch and a two-headed Licker – have been proven false by Dusk Golem. They called the images “fake” on Twitter, stating the leak was clearly not genuine. While some fans were relieved to hear the news, others who liked the potential new look for Leon expressed disappointment. One fan did acknowledge that despite being fake, the leaked images were well-made and looked convincingly authentic.
Even though the eyepatch Leon was seen wearing might not be real, it doesn’t mean he won’t be a major character in the upcoming *Resident Evil Requiem*. The person who revealed the leak as false previously stated they were certain Leon would be the main character. If this is true, it would be Leon’s first appearance in a main *Resident Evil* story since 2012’s *Resident Evil 6*. Most recently, he appeared in the 2023 remake of *Resident Evil 4*, the original of which came out in 2005.
Recently, another leak about the upcoming game *Resident Evil Requiem* has been circulating. With the announcement that the game will be available on the Switch 2, rumors have resurfaced about a possible PlayStation 4 version. Considering many players still use the older PS4 console, this wouldn’t be unexpected.
