  • Fishing ponds are coming to Manor Lords by popular request.
  • The new feature will arrive as part of the game’s next update, which is expected to roll out by August 2024.

As a dedicated gamer and long-time follower of Manor Lords, I’m thrilled to hear that fishing ponds are finally coming to this engaging city builder game. The development team at Slavic Magic has truly taken player feedback to heart, and it shows in their commitment to adding requested features like fishing ponds.

At the suggestion of many players, Slavic Magic will incorporate fishing ponds into Manor Lords in an upcoming release. This long-awaited feature will be included in the next version of the game.

In just over a day after its release in late April, Manor Lords sold over one million copies, making it one of the most thriving indie games of 2024. Players have been eager to share their thoughts with Slavic Magic since then, as the single-handed studio has encouraged feedback for this ongoing city builder game that’s currently under development.

Fishing Coming to Manor Lords Soon

As an avid fan of Manor Lords, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all! The team at Slavic Magic has announced that we can expect a new addition to the game soon: fishing ponds. In a recent tweet on July 15, studio founder and developer Greg Styczeń confirmed this long-requested feature will be included in an upcoming update. He mentioned that due to high fan demand, these ponds were prioritized for implementation. Although we don’t have an exact release date yet, Styczeń shared that the plan is to launch the update “in a few weeks,” meaning it should drop sometime before August 2024. So keep your fishing rods at the ready, Manor Lords fans!

Fishing ponds are a new addition to “Manor Lords,” introducing the first expansion of food resources for players after the initial release. Currently, the game includes seven resource classes: meat, vegetables, bread, berries, apples, eggs, and honey. The specifics of fishing in the city builder are yet to be revealed by Styczeń. However, considering the game’s design philosophy, it’s likely that players will face challenges similar to hunting wild animals, requiring them to consider the environmental consequences of overfishing and its impact on their growing medieval village.

Manor Lords Reiterates Plans to Add Butcher Profession

As a dedicated gamer, I’m always excited when developers listen to the community and announce plans to add new features. Styczeń recently shared on social media that the butcher profession is in the works, much to the delight of fans who have been asking for it. While we can look forward to this addition, there’s no definite timeline yet for its release. In the meantime, we have something else to look forward to: the upcoming fishing pond update. This update marks a transition from Unreal Engine 4 to UE5, which brings some awesome visual upgrades like virtual shadow maps that can be adjusted in the game’s settings.

Since its release in April 2024, Manor Lords has undergone one major revision and two minor adjustments. According to Styczeń’s earlier statements, the game is expected to remain in early access for approximately a year, contingent upon audience response.
