Marvel Has People Talking About Daredevil & Spider-Man
There Were Multiple Teases In Daredevil: Born Again
It’s likely we won’t see Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until the release of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” He wasn’t featured in the cast of “Avengers: Doomsday,” but his presence was hinted at significantly during “Daredevil: Born Again.” The audience hoped to catch a glimpse of him, but it didn’t pan out. Still, there’s buzz among fans that he might appear in “Daredevil: Born Again” season two, or characters from the Disney Plus series could join the cast of the upcoming “Spider-Man” movie, creating links between these storylines.
In the series, the main antagonist, or “Kingpin,” alluded to Spider-Man as a vigilante he aims to dominate and eradicate, hinting at a possible future plotline. Moreover, during the season finale, music associated with Spider-Man was played, serving as a nod to fans. Marvel seems to be setting up connections between these characters, suggesting that they may interact in some way. However, considering Marvel’s tendency to meticulously plan their crossovers, it’s likely that these worlds will intersect, but the process might not be straightforward.
Marvel’s Deal With Sony Might Prohibit Their Spider-Man Plans
It Is Going To Stop All Of The Teases
The hint of Spider-Man potentially starring in “Daredevil: Born Again” stirred up excitement, making fans speculate about a larger strategy for street-level storylines within the MCU. For years, fans have longed to witness an expanded universe, and some believe that “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” could be a street-level film returning Spidey to his roots. Marvel skillfully set up Daredevil’s entrance; contrasting the glossy Marvel films with a gritty underworld adds intrigue, offering a distinct and fresh take. Yet, it seems that Marvel’s agreement with Sony might prevent them from fully realizing this opportunity.
Currently, Spiderman can’t show up on Disney Plus series, so Tom Holland likely won’t feature in Daredevil: Born Again anytime soon, much to Marvel’s dismay as they envision Spiderman playing a role in the TV show that would elevate its appeal. The potential for Spiderman to join Daredevil’s team is intriguing, and it could make for an outstanding series. Unfortunately, unless Marvel Studios and Sony can reach an agreement, this collaboration won’t materialize, making it a regrettable missed opportunity. This is why Marvel should exercise caution when teasing such possibilities.
Marvel Might Be Able To Add Pull This Off In Spider-Man: Brand New Day
They Wouldn’t Be Able To Include Kingpin
If Marvel intends to bring Daredevil and Spider-Man together on screen, it seems likely they will do so in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” While Matt Murdock had a cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” he didn’t appear as Daredevil. Having him show up as Daredevil to team up with Spider-Man would create an exciting scene, but the character might need some toning down compared to his gritty and raw portrayal in “Daredevil: Born Again.” The intrigue lies in placing Daredevil in a world that Spider-Man typically avoids, not the other way around. Unfortunately, Marvel faces certain restrictions in this regard.
Although Daredevil might show up in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, Kingpin won’t be joining him. This is due to the Sony deal restricting the Marvel villain from appearing in movies at this time. It’s unfortunate because Kingpin is one of Marvel’s most intriguing villains, and his involvement in a future “Spider-Man” film would significantly enhance the storyline. However, the current circumstances don’t allow for a full exploration of his manipulative role from behind the scenes. That’s why recent “Spider-Man” teasases seem strange because, under the present conditions, they can’t fully live up to their potential.
