As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent immersed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can confidently say that the Multiverse Saga is shaping up to be nothing short of epic. The potential return of Loki and Sylvie, two fan-favorite characters, has sent waves of excitement through the gaming community.
It looks like Marvel may have a particular character planned as the main focus for their Multiverse Saga. Could we see a character resurrected in the storyline?
Marvel boasts a busy lineup in the coming years, featuring not just two upcoming Avengers films, but also hints of a much-anticipated return for one beloved character based on recent rumors.
During a recent Q&A session on Discord, industry expert Alex Perez disclosed that there may be plans for Marvel to reintroduce a cherished character into the MCU. If these plans come to fruition, Loki is expected to take center stage in Marvel’s upcoming multiverse saga. Furthermore, it appears that Sylvie, another variant of Loki, will also play a significant role alongside him. Similar to Black Widow’s part in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Sylvie’s role is anticipated to be substantial, but unlike the death that Black Widow experienced, Sylvie is not expected to meet her end.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Tom Hiddleston portrayed Loki most recently in 2019’s “Endgame.” This version of Loki from 2012 made an appearance, unintentionally paving the way for his own standalone series on Disney Plus. Contrarily, the original Loki met a heroic end during the battle against Thanos, making the ultimate sacrifice to save Thor. However, another incarnation of Loki was resurrected for two more seasons of his TV show on Disney Plus. Across these seasons, Loki demonstrated selfless acts by sacrificing himself for those he cherished and eventually claimed a throne at the end of time, becoming the deity of tales. This throne granted him oversight over countless variations of the Sacred Timeline, taking control from He Who Remains in preparation for the approaching Multiversal Conflict.
As a die-hard Loki fan, I can’t help but feel thrilled by the prospect that our trickster god isn’t saying goodbye just yet! Although a third season of Loki wasn’t announced as we all hoped, it seems Marvel might be planning something even more mind-blowing – reprising his role in their upcoming Multiverse Saga. Rumor has it, he could be the pivotal character right smack in the middle of this grand cosmic tale!
Furthermore, the source hinted at the return of another Loki character – Sylvie. Last we saw, she had survived the tumultuous aftermath of the multiverse. Although Perez didn’t reveal the details of her part, he compared it to Black Widow’s substantial roles in the last two Avengers films, implying that Sylvie could have a similarly pivotal role. Sylvie’s narrative revolved around hunting down Kang variants, including Ravonna Renslayer. Perez previously suggested that Ravonna might reappear, but now seems less confident about this prospect. With Kang being replaced by Doctor Doom as the primary antagonist for the Avengers, it’s possible that Kang’s variants may not be as significant as initially expected. However, keep in mind that these leaks could potentially be untrue, and Marvel might have been intentionally misleading fans about future storylines.
Loki is available on Disney Plus.
