As a seasoned player of Marvel Rivals, I can confidently say that the most aggravating character to face off against is none other than Spider-Man. Now, I ain’t just talkin’ ’bout any ol’ Spidey here; I’m talkin’ ’bout the one who swings through the battlefield like a boss, dancin’ around enemy fire, and makin’ mincemeat outta my teammates.
Marvel Rivals is doing exceptionally well with its player base, currently surpassing the 10 million mark. And let me tell you, it’s not just popular but also quite enjoyable to play!
After testing out all the heroes to find the top picks, let’s discuss the ones that have been particularly frustrating during gameplay. After investing numerous hours into this game, I must admit, certain superheroes have really pushed my patience to the limit!
Here are the most annoying heroes to play against in Marvel Rivals.
10. Loki
The Trickster God
Although Loki may not be as potent as other Marvel Rivals strategists, he’s definitely one of the most irritating opponents to face off against.
The primary cause lies in his knack for creating doubles, a skill that generates deceptions across the entire playfield. On numerous occasions, I believed I had successfully defeated my adversary, Loki, only to discover later that what I thought was a real kill was merely an illusion.
These illusions serve more than a decorative purpose; they also embody some of Loki’s skills that aid his team by healing them. You can’t disregard them, yet there’s always an uneasy feeling when defeating them.
9. Squirrel Girl
Squirrel Stampede!
As a gamer, I can envision an enhanced version of Overwatch’s Junkrat – that’s Squirrel Girl! She’s got the power to dish out some major damage with her nutty grenades.
In battle, she’s particularly proficient as a long-range skirmisher, consistently bombarding enemies from safer positions using an array of grenades. Skilled combatants are adept not only at this distant attack style but also at handling potential threats that may approach too closely.
Her “Tail Bounce” ability enables her to evade dangerous predicaments during a dive-bomb attack, and her “Mammal Bond” feature allows her to swiftly recharge and continue shooting.
If your opponent has someone like Spider-Man on their side, the ability for Webbed Acorn Team-Up gets unlocked, providing her with some essential options for managing crowds.
8. Hawkeye
Boom, Headshot!
Hawkeye is incredibly annoying to play against in the hands of a skilled player.
His quick knack for defeating heroes instantly can swiftly reverse the course of a battle. Moreover, he’s exceptionally nimble and challenging to hit.
Instead of opting for a swift, punch-happy character such as Spider-Man or Iron Fist who excels in close combat, you might also consider using one that can quickly escape danger thanks to an ability like the Skyward Leap. This move makes it easier for your chosen hero to evade potential threats.
Combined with Crescent Slash and Hypersonic Arrow, countering divers is easier than you think.
7. Wolverine
I Never Quit
Initially underestimated upon debut, Wolverine proves himself to be a formidable melee combatant, packing quite the punch and boasting exceptional durability in close-quarter battles.
Thematically, it makes sense; Wolverine is known for his regeneration abilities.
Expressing it differently, because Wolverine’s health naturally regenerates whenever he inflicts damage, he is always on the hunt for the next fight.
Give him a pocket healer, and he will be nearly immortal. Oh, and he does a lot of damage, too.
6. Jeff the Land Shark
The ultimate troll
Though Jeff’s hitbox may not work to his advantage, he’s likely the most user-friendly character in Marvel Rivals, implying you’ll often encounter him on the battlefield.
He’s an exceptional healer who can annihilate whole teams, and it’s all thanks to his extraordinary ability: Meet Jeff! This special power devours the enemy team, allowing you to traverse the map before expelling them.
Sure, let me rephrase that for a more casual and less violent tone: Absolutely! You have two options here: Either knock them off the platform, or use an ability that allows you to sacrifice yourself along with the enemy team.
Amazingly adaptable, he is, in his actions, and frustratingly, when backed into a corner, they can submerge beneath the water’s surface to dodge attacks.
If he weren’t so adorably charming, it might seem like everyone would want to give him a good thrashing, yet his sweet expression is hard to ignore.
5. Doctor Strange
I’ve come to bargain
In addition to Doctor Strange, other Marvel Rivals Vanguards also have protective shields, yet it’s his extra usefulness that makes him particularly frustrating to go up against.
As a seasoned gamer, I’ve got to say, my Pentagram of Farallah skill is top-notch! This bad boy lets my teammates zip across the map like nobody’s business. So when we face a wipe, it’s hardly a setback with me on their side – Strange is always ready to turn the tide!
The speed at which he inflicts damage makes Doctor Strange seem formidable. On the battlefield, he’s an unrelenting force, proving difficult to defeat when wielded by a skilled player.
Plus, you haven’t lived until you levitate and block a Hela ultimate from doing any damage.
4. Cloak & Dagger
Sword & Shield
Playing as Cloak & Dagger is an incredibly fun experience, but from the opposing side, it can be quite challenging and frustrating.
Apart from providing substantial healing for your team with their Cloak ability, Dagger’s tools are specifically crafted to cause maximum inconvenience.
As a gamer, let me tell you, nothing’s quite as annoying as going up against Cloak & Dagger in Marvel Rivals. From sneaking up on my team for a surprise attack to blinding the opposition, their abilities can really turn the tide of a game!
They continuously provide healing and can single-handedly take down enemy heroes. Regardless of the intensity of attacks, they are adept at protecting themselves and fending off severe dangers.
3. Venom
We are hungry!
Who is that soaring through the sky, causing chaos, and eliminating your companions one after another? It’s not Spiderman, it’s actually Venom!
As Eddie Brock, I might not have the agility of Spidey, but I can sure swoop in fast on the enemies’ defense line and deal some serious damage. In contrast to our friendly web-slinger, I’m not one to back down easily.
In simpler terms, Symbiotic Resilience refers to his ability to gain extra health during battles, which increases as his health decreases. This means that even when a character like Venom seems defeated, the game won’t confirm the kill until it has definitively done so, suggesting a persistent fightability.
2. Iron Fist
Public Enemy Number 1
In terms of Twitter sentiment, Iron Fist would likely rank as the most frustrating character to face off against in Marvel Rivals.
In simpler terms, Iron Fist excels at attacking the opponent’s main force, defeating ranged characters such as Duelists or Strategists individually, and surviving the encounter. Even when surrounded by enemies, he usually emerges triumphant.
One way to rephrase this in a natural and easy-to-read manner is: The main cause of this effect is the passive ability called Chi Absorption. Whenever Iron Fist helps defeat enemies, he absorbs their life force (Chi) and receives additional health. With his high damage output, it means that the more enemies he defeats, the more health he restores.
1. Spider-Man
You know who I am
The hardest hero to play in Marvel Rivals is also the most annoying to play against.
Going against a Spider-Man who knows what they’re doing is like taking on Doc Ock in a juggling contest. As strong as Iron Fist is at diving into the enemy backline, Spider-Man is even better.
He swiftly moves into action, strings together devastating attacks against vulnerable foes, and deftly dodges danger with incredible speed, seemingly disappearing from sight in a moment.
Instead of charging headfirst into danger, the skillfully titled “Pull ‘Em In” strategy allows you to draw opponents closer, shielding yourself from risky maneuvers.
It’s incredibly hard to defeat Spider-Man because of his extraordinary speed. If you manage to hit Peter Parker, consider yourself fortunate; you’ve joined a select group of individuals.
