Marvel Rivals: 9 Most Overpowered Heroes

As someone who has been playing this game since its inception and witnessed countless battles unfold, I can confidently say that the hero causing the most chaos in the current meta is none other than Iron Fist. This martial arts master is a force to be reckoned with, capable of chasing down targets with his rapid-fire punches and triple jumps that seem to defy the laws of physics.

Marvel Rivals is a third-person hero shooting game that aspires to foster a vibrant competitive environment. To ensure fairness, developer NetEase needs to finely tune and manage each character, making them potent enough to remain relevant in the game’s metagame, but not excessively powerful so they eclipse other characters.

Even so, individuals who have invested significant time in Quick Matches or Ranked games within Marvel Rivals will agree that certain characters are simply too powerful for the skill level needed to play them effectively.

Allow me to clarify: Any player could theoretically pair up with any hero given the right abilities. However, these particular characters deliver a lot with minimal risk and can swiftly alter the course of a battle. If you find yourself facing these characters on the opposing team, be prepared for a challenging experience ahead.

10. Squirrel Girl

Like Junkrat, She’s A Pesky Rodent

In the game “Marvel Rivals“, Doreen is depicted with comic authenticity, reflecting her immense power level in both the game and the comics.

As a newbie gamer, this nutty character is an absolute blast! Her acorns detonate with an insane force that’s hard to miss due to their generous hitbox and straightforward flight path. She’s the overpowered (OP) choice for beginners like me, making gameplay a whole lot easier and fun.

Additionally, she possesses skills that should not be underestimated. She’s capable of trapping foes, jumping to locations that are out of reach, and even recharging her abilities. Her ultimate move summons a swarm of squirrels that bounce off walls.

Even though her equipment might seem basic, an adept Squirrel Girl player can effortlessly rule a game and manage to remain mostly unhurt throughout the match.

9. Moon Knight

Random BS Go!

In a swift and lethal fashion, the emissary of Khonshu exacts retribution upon his adversaries using his curved projectiles – the crescent darts – which bounce off his ankh-like weapons before striking their targets, inflicting heavy damage on any individuals unfortunate enough to be within range.

A strategically placed player, by skillfully positioning Moon Knight’s ankhs correctly, could theoretically disintegrate an entire enemy squad if they’re huddled tightly together, as the ankhs ricochet among them repeatedly. However, in a one-on-one encounter, Moon Knight might find it challenging, but he certainly possesses immense power for causing massive team eliminations.

Instead of placing the Ultimate directly over the opponents, skilled Moon Knight players typically position their portals discreetly behind enemy lines, taking advantage of the fact that most people instinctively avoid looking up when they hear an enemy’s Ultimate and will naturally back away from it.

Mastering the placement and skillful handling of Moon Knight’s ankh takes practice, but when you get the hang of his basic moves, defeating foes becomes nearly second nature.

8. Venom

Lethal And Unkillable Protector

Venom is an exceptional tank, but perhaps a bit overpowered. There might be a need to tone him down slightly. Venom excels at diving into enemy lines and causing chaos, all while maintaining his own health with abundant extra health points.

In simpler terms, this character gains additional health from the health he lacks, and his ultimate ability increases significantly while causing damage proportional to the opponent’s current health.

Besides the frequent strikes, each of his tentacle attacks has a chance to inflict critical damage. Moreover, he moves with agility reminiscent of Spider-Man, making it challenging to take him down alone. So, assembling your entire team would be advisable if you aim to conquer this Symbiote.

7. Hawkeye

Arrow To The Knee

Pondering on the point that Clint Barton, despite being an ordinary human, battles both mutants and deities, could lead you to appreciate the extraordinary nature of his equipment.

In the Marvel Rivals team, Hawkeye, our skilled archer, has the ability to inflict massive damage with his arrows. He can easily take down opponents with 250 health or fewer, if he hits them in the head and has full focus.

With his special ability, called Hunter’s Sight, he can observe lingering traces of his adversaries, ensuring precise shooting even after they have moved. When skillfully handled by an aim-adept gamer, Hawkeye becomes a formidable power not to underestimate.

6. Hela

Goddess Of Hit Scans

Hela is a powerful Duelist who, as her moniker suggests, is great at dealing death.

Her rapid hitscan attacks inflict significant critical damage, often eliminating fragile characters in an instant if they’re within range. Moreover, when she unleashes her Ultimate, she becomes resilient to damage as she showers enemies with a flurry of explosive crows.

As a gamer, I’ve found it pointless to try and take down Hela when she’s soaring through the air during her ultimate move. The reason being, she’ll simply revert back to her regular form after a while, rendering my efforts futile.

5. Punisher

One-Man Army

When you take everything into account, the Punisher’s equipment might appear straightforward and unassuming, yet its simplicity doesn’t diminish its potential for destruction.

The Punisher is particularly skilled at unleashing a barrage of bullets against his adversaries, and his arsenal mirrors that of a typical soldier. However, his Culling Turret might trigger memories in an Overwatch veteran of the harrowing days when Bastion and Reinhardt teamed up, as it shares a chilling resemblance with that formidable duo.

Beyond this, his ultimate ability, dubbed “Final Judgment,” transforms him into an armored combatant outfitted with rapid-fire gatling guns and missile launchers. Visualize the Punisher supported by a squad of medics and tough-as-nails tank characters armed with protective shields. A sight truly chilling.

4. Winter Soldier

Again! Again! Again!

You may have observed some clips of Marvel Rival recently circulating online, featuring a Winter Soldier player eliminating an entire opponent team solely using his ultimate ability. If anything isn’t overpowered in this game, then I’m unsure what would qualify.

any foe slain under the influence of Kraken Impact’s debuff quickly recharges Winter Soldier’s Ultimate ability, enabling him to employ it once more immediately.

As a follower, there’s nothing quite as chilling as hearing the Winter Soldier repeatedly shout “once more” with each fallen comrade, sending a shiver down my spine.

3. Jeff

You’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat

2.

Anyone who has experienced Jeff’s Ultimate will confirm their intense dislike for him, bordering on fierce animosity.

The reason Jeff appears on this list isn’t due to his endless-reaching healing stream or his healing bubbles. Instead… (The reason he’s here is neither his inexhaustible healing stream nor his healing bubbles.)

It’s due to his powerful Ultimate – one that swiftly eliminates team members by engulfing anyone within an astonishingly broad range. And if you think you’re safe up there, think twice. Jeff’s Ultimate isn’t limited to those on the ground either.

According to the official Marvel Rivals website, it is mentioned under Jeff’s details that his Ultimate ability has a reach of 10 meters in all directions, implying that you won’t be safe if you’re in the vicinity or even in the air around him.

In many instances, I’ve darted beyond the boundaries of Jeff’s Ultimate area, believing I was safe, yet found myself ensnared within his jaws. Once Jeff utters the sound of chewing, “nom, nom, nom,” it’s advisable to leap off a precipice.

1. Iron Fist

*Screaming*

There’s no sight more chilling than an Iron Fist charging towards you. This skilled martial artist strikes fear into his fans, who quiver at the thought of facing him due to his lightning-fast fists and incredible ability to leap across the map multiple times, making him seemingly omnipresent.

Don’t let his melee abilities fool you, either, as no flying Hero is safe from Lin Lie’s fists. Iron Fist can easily chase down Iron Man with his auto-locking melee attacks, and can negate any and all damage with his “Dragon’s Defense” parries.

Moreover, it’s astonishing how, even when it seems he’s on the brink of death, this Hero manages to restore his vigor completely using “Harmony Recovery”. It’s incredible to think about all the potent powers such a single character can possess.

Any player who knows the basics of using Iron Fist has the potential to dominate in a game, making him a formidable opponent. It’s only a matter of time before developers at NetEase adjust Iron Fist’s abilities, likely toning him down significantly.
