All Maps & Game Modes Available in Marvel Rivals
In the initial season of Marvel Rivals, there are four distinct gaming experiences for enthusiasts to delve into. Earlier, we discussed that the maps vary for each game mode. Let me elaborate on how each game mode operates and the maps accessible within the game:
Convoy
In the Convoy game setting, one squad is tasked with safeguarding a mobile vehicle as it traverses the entire map. The objective of the opposing team is to obstruct the escorted group by either annihilating them or challenging their control over the vehicle.
As the game starts, the defending side can exit the starting zone and make their way towards the vehicle to strategically position an ambush. Meanwhile, the offensive team is required to remain within the starting zone for a duration of 30 seconds. Upon release, the offensive team must seize control of the vehicle, which will then commence its journey. If the attacking team maintains control, the vehicle will keep advancing as long as at least one hero from their team remains in proximity.
The vehicle will move faster if there are multiple heroes around it.
In the Convoy game setting, each map features two strategic points, referred to as checkpoints. The objective for the offensive team is to safely guide their vehicle from one checkpoint to another and ultimately reach the end of the map. There’s a time limit in play; if the attacking force fails to arrive at the destination before the timer reaches zero, the defending side emerges victorious.
When a vehicle passes through a specific point (checkpoint), more time is automatically added to the clock, benefiting the offensive group. If the defensive side successfully eliminates the attacking team, they can seize the vehicle, causing it to move in reverse. However, the defensive team’s ability to push the vehicle back only extends up to the previously captured checkpoint.
There are only two maps currently available for the Convoy game mode in Marvel Rivals:
- Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path
- Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Domination
In this game setting, two groups compete to dominate a specific location on the map. This key zone, known as the Mission Zone, becomes active following a 30-second delay. A player from one of the teams must remain within the Mission Zone for it to fill up completely and secure control for their side.
After being taken, it’s the job of each player to keep the rival team out of the Mission zone. A progress meter advances by 1% approximately once every 1.2 seconds. The team that maintains control over the Mission Area until the meter hits 100% is declared the winner of the round.
After capturing the Mission Zone, there’s no need to remain within it for the progress bar to advance further.
The rival team could challenge the designated mission zone by entering it. This action would temporarily stop the progress bar until your team forces the opponents out of the zone. Conversely, if your team is forced out, the opposing side would then begin capturing the mission area.
If the competing team tries to take control of the Mission Zone while the other team is almost winning, the game goes into Overtime. At the top of your screen, you’ll notice a Golden Bar that decreases as long as no enemy characters are within the Mission Area. The bar stops decreasing if the enemy team enters the zone, but it resumes when your team either defeats the opposing heroes or pushes them out of the area.
This game mode has three rounds. The first team to capture the Mission Area twice wins.
The following three maps are currently used in the Domination game mode in Marvel Rivals.
- Yggsgard: Royal Palace
- Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda: Birnin T’Challa
- Hydra Charteris Base: Hell’s Heaven.
Convergence
In the thrilling world of Marvel Rivals, I find myself drawn to the exhilarating Convergence game mode. This captivating mode seamlessly blends aspects from Convoy and Domination, creating a unique and engaging experience. As a player, you’re part of either the assaulting or defending squad. The objective of the attacking team is to storm the Mission zone, seize it, and then guide a vehicle past two critical checkpoints to secure victory. It’s a heart-pumping blend of strategy, teamwork, and adrenaline that keeps me coming back for more!
Once again, the defending team can leave the spawn area early to set up an ambush.
The maps currently available for the Convergence game mode in Marvel Rivals are:
- Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya
- Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda: Hall of Djalia
- Klyntar: Symbiotic Surface.
Conquest
Fans of hero shooter games are accustomed to team deathmatch modes, and in Marvel Rivals, this is referred to as Conquest. Unfortunately, this specific game mode isn’t accessible through Quick Play or Competitive; instead, you must explicitly choose the Conquest game mode if you wish to experience it firsthand.
In this game setting, players are grouped into two rival squads. Eliminating any character causes points to appear on the map that the opposing team can grab. The first team to collect 50 points wins, though there’s a time limit as well. If the clock runs out while both teams have points, the squad with the highest score takes victory.
There’s only one map available for Conquest game mode in Marvel Rivals at the moment:
- Tokyo 2099: Warped Ninomaru
In the game Marvel Rivals, the assortment of game modes and levels ensures a fun and engaging experience.
