Marvel Rivals and Destiny: Rising Employees At NetEase Arrested

As someone who has been following the gaming industry for quite some time now, I must admit that it’s not uncommon to hear about scandals and corruption cases in big companies like NetEase Games. However, the scale of this alleged money laundering scheme is truly staggering. It’s like finding out that Han Solo had a secret account at the Cantina Bantha Blue!

According to a recent report, several workers from Marvel Rivals and Destiny: Rising studio, NetEase Games, have reportedly been taken into custody.

As a passionate follower of news, I’ve learned from reliable sources like Leifeng (China) and Bloomberg Law that an unfortunate incident has taken place. Nine individuals, among them two high-ranking executives, are reportedly under arrest on allegations of money laundering.

According to the findings in the report, the contract value seems to be approximately 2 billion yuan, equivalent to around $278.6 million. However, when converted to actual currency, it ranges between 800 million and 1 billion yuan, which is roughly between $111.4 million and $139.3 million.

As a devoted follower, I’m sharing some insights about the individuals involved in the recent case. They are none other than Xiang Lang and Jin Yuchen. In their respective roles, Xiang was leading NetEase’s esports division, while Jin held the position of head on the publishing side. However, it’s important to note that neither executive is currently part of the company anymore.

The names of fellow workers at the company were not disclosed. However, someone who spoke with Yicai Global has refuted any allegations of money laundering.

It’s claimed that corruption occurred within the departments where the two executives were employed, according to the company. Additionally, they verified that a total of 27 companies have been barred due to suspected involvement in fraudulent activities.

Details about the ongoing investigation prevent us from sharing further incident specifics right now. We’ll disclose more when we can.
