As a long-time Marvel fan and avid gamer, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Thor and Jeff were joining the Marvel Rivals closed beta! I’ve been eagerly awaiting these character announcements since the game was first revealed, and I can hardly believe that they’ll be available for us to try out tomorrow.
The Marvel Rivals closed beta is currently underway, inviting a number of players globally to test Netease’s newest Marvel team-based PvP shooter. Yesterday at Comic-Con in San Diego, the developers shared an exciting new trailer, unveiled game features, and offered special gifts to attendees. Thor and Jeff were revealed as the most recent additions to the Marvel Rivals roster.

Thor and Jeff Arrive Tomorrow
Today, NetEase unveiled a fresh Marvel Rivals trailer: Thor, the mighty Asgardian deity of thunder, and the eccentric earth-shaker Jeff are joining the game. These newcomers will participate in Marvel Rivals’ closed beta starting July 27.
At present, it’s unclear what special skills these characters possess. However, we can count on Thor using his iconic hammer Mjolnir to unleash devastating thunderstorms and cause mayhem. Contrastingly, Jeff is described as a shark, implying that his formidable teeth will be an essential factor in the competition.
Marvel Rivals Addresses Twitch Drops Issue
The Marvel Rivals development team has acknowledged and expressed regret to those players who encountered difficulties in claiming codes because of website display troubles. To prevent future complications, they’ve simplified the process for PlayStation 5 users, allowing them to more clearly identify which code they should redeem.
If players have fulfilled the 60-minute watch requirement on Twitch during the day and all codes for that day have already been taken, they can simply reload the page the following day to redeem their codes without having to watch an additional hour of Marvel Rivals gameplay on Twitch.
