Adam Warlock Team Compositions
As a seasoned player with countless hours under my belt, I must say that Adam Warlock is quite the enigma in Marvel Strike Force. His unique abilities and passive self-resurrection make him a formidable ally on the battlefield. However, his lack of mobility can leave him vulnerable to flanking enemies, much like a juicy steak left unguarded at a barbecue (and we all know how quickly that disappears).
healers play a crucial role in any potent squad within Marvel Rivals, as they primarily focus on maintaining the health of their comrades during battle by providing healing.
Unlike characters such as Luna Snow and Cloak and Dagger who predominantly heal allies through their basic attacks, Adam Warlock leans more towards an ability-focused approach, providing his teammates with swift health boosts instead.
Adam Warlock, wielding cosmic influence, stands as a shining symbol of fairness and compassion, restoring his comrades via Quantum Magic and holding the ability to resurrect not only himself but also his fellow warriors.
In this tutorial, we’ll delve into the special skills possessed by Adam Warlock and provide you with top strategies when using him as a character.
Adam Warlock Abilities
Although Adam Warlock is renowned for his healing abilities, he’s surprisingly capable of dishing out an enormous amount of damage too. This type of character is often called an ‘off-healer’, because while they have healing capabilities, it’s not their primary role.
Adam performs optimally when you strike a balance between dishing out high damage per second (DPS) and providing healing, since his main and auxiliary shots can deal more damage than typically anticipated.
In terms of comparison to an Overwatch character, one could say he’s somewhat like the character Zenyatta – a healer indeed, yet possessing the ability to inflict significant damage independently as well.
Ability | Description |
---|---|
Quantum Magic | Basic Attack. Launch a hitscan attack that deals 55 damage per shot, with a damage falloff at 20m reaching 50% at 40m. This attack can crit. |
Karmic Revival | Ultimate. Revive allies within range for 10 seconds, centered on Adam. Continuously monitor for fallen allies within this range; if they enter the area, they will be revived at the casting location. Allies are revived with 100 health with a brief moment of invincibility. |
Soul Bond | Adam tethers himself with allies within range, sharing a portion of the damage sustained. If Adam sustains damage that would KO him due to the link, then the link will be broken, and he will retain one health. The link will also break once enough damage is sustained, a certain time has passed, or if there’s too much distance between Adam and his allies. Has 15m radius. |
Avatar Life Stream | Target an ally for a bouncing stream of healing energy, which also heals himself upon casting; self-targets if no ally is selected. Heals for 95 for allies and 35 for self. Has 2 charges that take 6 seconds to recharge. Target must be in line of sight. |
Cosmic Cluster | Charge and release five projectiles from your basic attack ammo that deal 38 each. These projectiles do not crit. |
Regenerative Ciocoon | When KO’d, Adam will freely move around as a soul and self-revive at a chosen spot. 105 second cooldown. |
Adam Warlock Offensive Strategies
Adam demonstrates significant damage-per-second (DPS) capability: With each headshot inflicting 110 points of damage, he can potentially eliminate a Duelist or Healer with just three shots. To maximize this potential, it’s beneficial to dedicate some time to honing your accuracy in hitscan shooting.
- Before or during engagements, try to set up your charged attack in choke points or while peeking corners to make sure you land all pellets and catch your enemies off guard. If done right, you can easily melt an enemy’s health bar.
- Because your healing potential is very reliant on ability cooldowns, focus more on dealing damage with your teammates. You can’t spam your heals, but you certainly can deal poke damage to enemies.
- When attacking, prioritize isolated enemies like Duelists or Strategists who are separated from their team.
- Get to high ground for a better vantage point both for dealing damage and healing your allies.
- Since Soul Bond does not require line-of-sight, you can cast it as long as allies are nearby.
Adam Warlock Defensive Strategies
To effectively play defensively as Adam Warlock, it’s crucial to skillfully handle your Soul Bond and Life Stream powers. Always be aware of the right moments to deploy your Ultimate, as it has the potential to dramatically shift a seemingly lost battle in your favor.
- As you engage in a team fight, try to get as many teammates in a soul bond as possible to best mitigate the damage taken. It’s better to take hurt together than to suffer alone.
- Don’t be afraid to cast Soul Bond on any single teammate who’s in trouble. Despite the 30-second cooldown, it’s better to use it to save an ally than to let them die.
- Life Stream healing bounces around allies, prioritizing those with the least amount of health. Never use Life Stream on yourself unless you’re in a serious pinch, like if your self-revive is on cooldown or if you need to stay in the battle for your team.
- This is a no-brainer: stay with your team so you don’t get ganked by Duelists.
- If you die, try to find hidden locations to self-revive, but don’t revive if you’re swarmed or in the middle of a losing fight. You have the option to decline the revive and die normally so that you can regroup with your teammates. Sometimes, it’s better that way so that you can find a better moment to self-res.
- Don’t wait for big res moments. When a crucial teammate (like a tank or main healer) dies, use your Ultimate so that they can stay in the fight longer. This ability can save an objective if used correctly.
- When your teammates revive, make sure you have both your Soul Bond and Life Stream abilities ready (or notify your other healer) so that you can top their health back up before their brief invincibility wears off.
Adam Warlock Team-Up Abilities
In association with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Adam Warlock has the ability to bestow his power of resurrection upon Star-Lord, Mantis, and others without incurring any personal expense or loss himself.
Through unwavering determination, Adam receives a 15% increase in healing, helping him reduce the necessity of relying heavily on his abilities’ cooldowns.
This Team-Up skill is remarkably potent because Mantis and Star-Lord are particularly effective in the current game environment. Equipped with an automatic self-revival feature, they, alongside Adam Warlock, can prove to be formidable forces in any encounter.
Team-Up Ability | Heroes Needed | Description |
---|---|---|
Soul Perseverance | Adam Warlock | Adam Warlock grants Star-Lord and Mantis the powers of cocooned revival. This Team-Up also gives Adam a 15% Healing boost. |

Adam Warlock Counters And How To Deal With Them
Similar to many healers, Adam Warlock often finds himself in a vulnerable position due to having a large bullseye on his back. Given his limited ability to move away swiftly, he can be quickly defeated by any foe cunning enough to approach from an unexpected angle.
- Vanguard
- Venom
- Duelist
- Black Panther
- Star-Lord
- Magik
- Iron Fist
- Spider-Man
- Strategist
- Loki
Similar to other supports, Adam Warlock can be easily outmaneuvered by enemies who move rapidly and can flank or dive. To counter this, it’s best to stay with your team and sharpen your aiming skills to swiftly take down any enemy who makes the mistake of diving.
A cunning foe like Loki can mimic your ultimate move and bring back his entire team if given the chance. Therefore, it’s crucial to disrupt his actions and eliminate him swiftly before he has the opportunity to do so.
Adam Warlock Team Compositions
As an ardent supporter, I’d advise you to have a primary healer in your team since Adam isn’t an off-healer. Ideally, you’d want a healer whose basic attacks provide healing or one who can heal more frequently to compensate for Adam’s less frequent healing capabilities.
- Mantis
- Star-Lord
- Doctor Strange
- Groot
A Mantis ally, equipped with Life Orbs, not only aids in healing the whole team but also enhances their offensive capabilities by boosting damage output and delivering powerful basic attacks.
With Mantis and Star-Lord on your squad, the odds of victory significantly increase due to the ability to reciprocate your self-resurrection trait among team members.
As a gamer, I can attest that Mantis packs an impressive healing punch in the current game meta. Pairing her with Star-Lord’s formidable aimbot Ultimate is like finding a secret power-up. This duo’s team-up ability lets them self-revive without spending a single Ultimate point, making for an incredibly potent combo that’s hard to beat.
In our team setup, Groot and Doctor Strange are versatile fighters, capable of holding the line from both the front and back. For the vacant Duelist position, feel free to choose any hero that fits your strategy best. At present, I’ve opted for Iron Fist as he’s proving particularly effective in shaping the current gameplay dynamics (meta).
