In the game Marvel Rivals, Squirrel Girl functions as a versatile Ranged combatant, possessing an ideal blend of pesky and potent power when utilized skillfully by a proficient player.

She deviates from the standard pattern of long-range damage dealers such as The Punisher, Hawkeye, or Hela. Unlike them, Squirrel Girl relies on her acorn grenades to create chaos instead.

At times, your role might be focusing on dealing secondary damage while controlling key locations. On other occasions, you’ll find yourself accurately throwing grenades to take down enemy heroes unexpectedly.

As a die-hard fan, my gut feeling tells me that you’d love to devote much of your gameplay time as Squirrel Girl by flinging acorns from your backline and causing annoyance to the opposing team. While this approach is undeniably effective, it’s worth exploring more damaging strategies for Squirrel Girl:

  • Use verticality to your advantage. You have a very impressive jump ability. While you’re not going to soar through the skies like Iron Man or Storm, you will still be able to make it rain damage.
  • Learn the ins and outs of every map in the game. Once you do, you’ll know the perfect camping spots when attacking or defending objective points. Positioning is the most important part of playing Squirrel Girl well. Knowing the maps like the back of your hand is key to success.
  • Practice aiming for close-range encounters. Your acorns do a surprising amount of damage close up. Don’t be surprised when you can solo melee heroes trying to dive you.

Squirrel Girl Defensive Strategies

When it comes to playing defense as a team, avoid getting mixed up with the concept. Squirrel Girl excels most when guarding strategic locations, and that’s where her skills shine both in offense and aggression. The strategies you’ll find here will show you the optimal methods for holding your ground during incoming attacks, as Squirrel Girl.

  • Always. Be. Moving. Do not stop moving. That includes moving vertically instead of just horizontally.
  • You have, at minimum, one crowd-control ability. With Spider-Man, you have two. Use these to your advantage. They may not stun the enemy hero for long, but you can set up a CC into damage to retaliate against being attacked.
  • Resetting your cooldowns is very underrated. It’s not the sexiest ability, but it will keep you alive more than you realize.

Squirrel Girls’ Team-Up ability is dependent on having a Spider-Man on your team.

This new skill adds another effective strategy to your arsenal, crucial for subduing difficult characters. If you encounter a character like Venom who seems invincible, simply counteract his shield activation, and he should be defeated.

Squirrel Girl Counters & How to Deal with Them

It’s worth noting that snipers such as Hawkeye, Black Widow, and even The Punisher with his smoke bomb prove to be formidable opponents against a grenade launcher. They can take you out from a distance effortlessly.

Jeff, or rather the Land Shark, proves quite formidable against Squirrel Girl, submerging underwater and releasing curative bubbles to counteract any harm inflicted.

Star Lord can be quite a pesky character, zipping around the map and dealing substantial damage. While you might have a chance to outmaneuver other solo fighters such as Spider-Man or Iron Fist, Star Lord’s swiftness and high damage output often give him an advantage in combat.

Doctor Strange and Magneto serve as formidable protectors, skillfully utilizing their protective barriers to significantly reduce the impact of any incoming damage.

Best Team Comps With Squirrel Girl

Ideally, you will want Spider-Man on your team so he can unlock your Team-Up ability.

Moving forward, an effective lineup for Squirrel Girl should be built around characters who have the ability to gather a crowd. Characters like Venom and Hulk, being vanguards, tend to grab the attention of adversary heroes. This situation offers us a prime opportunity to take advantage of it.

Couldn’t Jeff the Land Shark benefit from this too, given his powerful final attack? He’s particularly skillful at placing protective healing zones while you traverse the map, even when the opposing team tries to thwart your progress.

Mantis and Luna Storm excel as healers primarily because of their crowd control skills. When enemies are kept in check, it significantly simplifies dealing massive damage using your acorn grenades.
