Marvel Rivals’ Latest Leaked Character is a Logical Progression

As a seasoned Marvel fanatic who’s been following the cinematic universe since its inception, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of Valkyrie joining the ranks of Marvel Rivals! Having watched Tessa Thompson’s badass portrayal of Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and Endgame, I can only imagine how incredible it would be to play her in a third-person shooter.

What makes this addition even more enticing is the potential for team-ups with other Asgardian characters like Thor, Hela, and Loki. The thought of Valkyrie wielding her sword, Dragonfang, in battle against my rivals gives me goosebumps!

Now, let’s not forget that there are multiple versions of Valkyrie in the Marvel Comics universe. If NetEase Games decides to throw a curveball and introduce us to Jane Foster or Samantha Parrington instead, I wouldn’t mind a bit. After all, variety is the spice of life!

To wrap it up, if you thought Asgard was filled with gods and goddesses, just wait until Valkyrie shows up in Marvel Rivals – she’ll make even Thor look like a rookie! And who knows? Maybe she’ll bring us a surprise Easter egg or two. Could Thor’s hammer be hidden somewhere within her model? We can only hope!

Rumors about upcoming characters in Marvel Rivals have been widespread recently. As we approach the end of Season 0 and prepare for Season 1, dataminers have discovered several new heroes hidden within the game’s files. However, it remains unclear exactly how many heroes will debut in Season 1 and which ones are planned for a later release.

From a die-hard Marvel fan here, let me share some exciting news: By New Year’s Eve, there are whispers about at least fifteen new characters potentially entering the game scene. With the buzz surrounding the leaks of Marvel Rivals, one hero has already caught my attention as an ideal addition. The Asgardian warrior, Valkyrie, is rumored to join the ranks of our third-person shooter heroes in the not-so-distant future.

In NetEase Games’ upcoming free-to-play title, it’s uncertain which iteration of Valkyrie will make an appearance. The primary character of note is Brunnhilde, who belongs to the Valkyrior – a band of female warriors responsible for escorting the souls of fallen heroes to Valhalla. She is an ally of Thor and has collaborated with both the Avengers and Defenders. Tessa Thompson’s portrayal of Valkyrie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe draws inspiration from Brunnhilde, while incorporating some distinctive features.

One significant variant is Jane Foster, who took up the mantle of Valkyrie in the “War of the Realms” (2019). Marvel enthusiasts might also remember Samantha Parrington, introduced in “The Incredible Hulk” #142 (1971), who temporarily assumed the role after the Enchantress manipulated her. Later on, she permanently adopted this persona during The Defenders (vol. 2) #4 (2001).

Another remarkable character is Jane Foster, who stepped into the Valkyrie role in the “War of the Realms” (2019). Marvel fans may recall that Samantha Parrington, introduced in “The Incredible Hulk” #142 (1971), briefly became Valkyrie when the Enchantress manipulated her. Subsequently, she permanently embraced this persona during The Defenders (vol. 2) #4 (2001).

It is yet unknown which iteration of Valkyrie will appear in NetEase Games’ recently launched free-to-play game.

As a longtime fan of Marvel comics, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Valkyrie in “Marvel Rivals.” Having grown up reading about her combat prowess and weaponry, I can’t help but wonder what her gameplay will entail. Throughout her comic book history and MCU appearances, she’s been known to wield a variety of melee weapons such as swords (like Dragonfang), battle axes, spears, and shields. With my years of experience following the Marvel universe, I have high expectations for Valkyrie in this new game. I can only imagine the excitement that awaits us when she joins the fray!

Valkyrie Already Primed for Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming addition to Marvel Rivals, whose identity remains a secret beyond her name. This enigma has left fellow fans in a frenzy, speculating whether she will join the ranks as a Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. Regardless of her role, I believe her arrival is an essential step forward for the game’s future. Currently, Asgardian characters such as Hela, Thor, Loki, and potentially Valkyrie grace our screens, but this new character could very well become the fourth, adding a fresh layer of excitement to the Marvel Rivals universe.

Significantly, when Hela, Thor, and Loki are grouped together in the Marvel Rivals Team-Up Ability, they all reap advantages during Ragnarok Rebirth. In this scenario, if Hela delivers the final blow to an opponent, she can instantly revive one of her brothers if they’ve already perished, or boost their health if they’re still alive. Valkyrie, who is not related to Hela, could potentially profit from a similar or distinct Team-Up skill in this setting.

As Marvel Rivals proceeds to grow its character roster, it’s entirely logical to include more characters based on Norse mythology. Given that we already have two maps centered around Yggsgard, the Royal Palace and the Path of Yggdrasill (both significant in Norse cosmology), a female warrior from Valhalla would undoubtedly be a great fit for the Asgardian-inspired group. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for official announcements about her from NetEase Games soon!
