Summary
- The Marvel Rivals community seeks to change Jeff’s ult to exclude foes in the air.
- Jeff’s Ultimate in Marvel Rivals has been a common complaint.
- In addition, the community discusses the need for visual changes to Jeff’s ult hitbox to accurately reflect its size.
As a seasoned Marvel Rivals player with countless hours under my belt (and many frustrating encounters with Jeff’s Ultimate), I wholeheartedly support the community’s call for change. It’s no secret that Jeff has been causing quite a splash since the game’s launch, and while his power is part of the charm, it can be downright infuriating to get swallowed up by him when you’re mid-air.
As a Marvel Rivals player, I’ve been noticing the impact of Jeff’s ultimate in the game and I think it could use a tweak. Currently, enemies in the air can be caught by it, but I propose changing this so that only ground-based enemies can be affected. This adjustment would add an extra layer of strategy to the game and make matches more engaging and fair for everyone involved. Jeff’s ultimate is already powerful, but its current implementation seems to give players with aerial characters an unfair advantage.
Following the use of his ultimate ability, Jeff plunges and generates a zone for characters to be ingested. Upon resurfacing, he devours allies and adversaries within proximity. The Strategist character sparked intense discussion among the Marvel Rivals gaming community, as players often eliminated the entire opposing team by consuming them and knocking everyone off the map’s edge. Mastering Jeff’s ultimate move in Marvel Rivals is challenging, so a community member has proposed an idea to make it more manageable.
User KevinPigaChu proposed that Jeff’s ultimate move should not be capable of engulfing enemies who are not on the ground. To clarify, a user posted an image from the game showing Jeff’s ultimate being activated on one of the Marvel Rivals maps, located on the first floor. Groot was present on the second floor, but he fell within range of the land shark’s power. Many players concurred with the initial post and recounted their own experiences where they too were caught off guard by his powerful ability while using aerial characters like Iron Man and Storm.
Marvel Rivals Players Want Jeff’s Ultimate Hitbox Changed
The feedback on KevinPigaChu’s post proposed two modifications for Jeff’s ultimate ability: firstly, enhancing the visual aspect to help players differentiate if they are within or beyond range; secondly, shrinking the size of the ultimate itself, with some users adding that the scale of the indicator doesn’t align with the power of the skill. This discrepancy has resulted in Jeff accidentally hitting enemies even outside the animation boundaries. Additionally, various Reddit users pointed out that this problem isn’t unique to Jeff, as it also affects Cloak and Dagger’s ult and Spider-Man’s uppercut.
On December 6, NetEase launched Marvel Rivals, and since then, the game has received two updates. The initial update mainly addressed numerous fixes and enhancements to levels and characters within the game. Recently, another patch was released, marking the start of the Winter Celebration, which will run until January 8, 2025. Notably, participants in this new event can acquire a fresh winter-themed outfit for the character Jeff in Marvel Rivals at no cost.
