Summary
- Marvel Snap will be back in the US within the next 12 hours.
- Swift restoration of TikTok services may have contributed to Marvel Snap’s quick comeback.
- The game continues to improve with monthly updates, offering new features and fixes for players.
Second Dinner, the creators behind Marvel Snap, have just announced that the game will return to the U.S. within a dozen hours. This highly sought-after collectible card game was launched in 2022 and quickly gained massive popularity, leaving many fans disappointed when it disappeared from the U.S. market following the TikTok ban.
On January 19th, 2025, TikTok was prohibited in the United States due to allegations that it was gathering user data for the Chinese government, which its parent company ByteDance denied. The “Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act,” passed in 2024, enforced this ban. Interestingly, Marvel Snap was also prohibited at the same time since it is produced by Nuverse, a subsidiary of ByteDance. As a result, Marvel Snap was removed from digital stores and is no longer playable within US borders.
Shortly after the ban was lifted, TikTok resumed operations in the United States. Now, Second Dinner has commented on the situation regarding the Marvel Snap ban. According to the developers, the Marvel Snap game should function correctly within the next 12 hours, which would make it playable again by January 21st.
Marvel Snap Developers Confirm The Game Will Be Back Within a Few Hours
The rapid resurgence of Marvel Snap might mirror TikTok’s potential comeback. Despite being banned under Trump’s administration, plans were already announced to reintroduce TikTok within the United States at the time this report was written. However, it’s uncertain how this situation will unfold, as the ban on TikTok remains technically active in the U.S. legal system.
Regardless of the sudden complications surrounding the ban, Marvel Snap consistently reveals fresh updates every month. Just last week, for instance, the game implemented significant adjustments to card acquisition, effectively doubling the frequency of Series 3 cards appearing in Collector’s Reserves. This modification is expected to significantly decrease the time it takes for novice players to collect all Season 3 cards. Additionally, the Token reward from Spotlight Cache was boosted from 1000 to 2000 Tokens within this update. Furthermore, the update resolved some bugs and tweaked effects on several cards. Here’s hoping Marvel Snap continues enhancing its players’ experience, while avoiding future bans in the US.
