For an added advantage, incorporate punishment cards such as Kingpin into your strategy; these can inflict damage upon the enemy’s moved cards.
Just like the lineup I’m fond of, decks centered around Scream can be quite rigid. She heavily depends on her support cards, which in turn, restricts my ability to mix and match other cards effectively.
How to Counter Scream
Ideal counterplays against Scream include Shang-Chi, Red Guardian, Luke Cage, and Shadow King.
- Shang-Chi targets all buffed cards. Scream decks will likely grow multiple cards—including Scream herself—into ten-Power cards. And that’s an excellent opportunity for Shang-Chi because he can destroy all of them at once.
- Red Guardian is great for blocking Scream. Since she’s only a two-Power card when dropped, Red Guardian can effectively target her, turning her into a zero-Power, no-ability card.
- Shadow King reverts Scream’s buffs. He can take away all her gains and debuff other cards in her lane.
- Luke Cage turns Scream’s “steals” into “buffs.” When he’s on the board, Scream will get +2 Power for your moved cards, but this increase won’t affect the stats on your side.
Is Scream Worth It?
In current game strategy (META), Scream can be overlooked as she may not significantly impact your games due to the dominance of Hela. However, Marvel Snap has introduced new characters like Madame Web, Scarlet Spider, and Arana that could potentially make Scream a powerful tech card. But given the current metagame focus, it’s unlikely she will revolutionize your decks. Therefore, it might be wise to hold off on investing in her unless you have a specific niche for her in your team.
Alexander Coccia, a well-known Snap player and content producer, pointed out that Scream is a strong card on its own, but the characters who accompany it are lackluster. He emphasized that for Scream to grow effectively, it needs cards like Juggernaut and Polaris, which are not currently considered strategic in the game’s current Meta (metagame).
