Marvels Wolverines First Big Cameo Should Go from 0100

Marvels Wolverines First Big Cameo Should Go from 0100

Highlights

  • Marvel’s Wolverine could feature universe-shattering cameos, going beyond superficial Easter eggs to actual character appearances.
  • X-Men characters appearing in Marvel’s Wolverine could be more than just cameos, falling into the side character category.
  • The potential for a Hulk boss fight in Marvel’s Wolverine would be phenomenal fan service, as would anything explicitly referencing Deadpool.

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation for Insomniac’s upcoming masterpiece, Marvel’s Wolverine. Having grown up on a steady diet of X-Men comics and their movie adaptations, the prospect of stepping into Logan’s clawed boots is nothing short of exhilarating.

The game series “Marvel’s Spider-Man” has consistently created a fulfilling and self-reliant storyline, yet it hasn’t hesitated to include Easter eggs and nods to the larger Marvel universe. In its New York City setting, you can find an Avengers Tower, Wakandan Embassy, Sanctum Sanctorum, and other notable locations that are closely linked with their famous inhabitants. The upcoming game, “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2”, has been more explicit in referencing these connections; for instance, the character Wong contacting Miles Morales is one of the closest instances of a direct character cameo within the series.

With Insomniac’s upcoming game featuring Wolverine from Marvel, we might be in store for some earth-changing guest appearances that won’t hold back on the action. Although details about Wolverine‘s next adventure are tightly sealed due to a ransomware attack leaking sensitive information, there are countless possibilities for memorable cameos that would go beyond mere Easter eggs and involve actual character appearances, however brief.

Like Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Wolverine is Likely to Have Plenty of In-Universe Easter Eggs

In essence, X-Men characters might be considered cameos if their roles are limited and brief, but due to their close relationship with Logan, they’d more accurately be classified as secondary or supporting characters, similar to how Mary Jane Watson isn’t a cameo for Peter Parker, and Jean Grey wouldn’t be one for Logan.

Given that several well-known Marvel characters are probably included in Marvel’s Wolverine, it might be necessary for incidental cameos or mentions to evolve into full-fledged appearances, otherwise they could seem superfluous and lack a proper reason for being included.

It would be an amazing spectacle if The Hulk faced off against Wolverine in a boss fight, which would satisfy long-time fans who’ve been eagerly waiting for this encounter. If such a confrontation were to occur in Marvel’s Wolverine, it wouldn’t matter what reason or coincidence brought them together; it would be too exciting an opportunity to miss. This fight could also allow Insomniac to delve deeper into the one area where Deadpool and Wolverine barely touched upon their famous rivalry – a full-blown battle between the two on-screen. Previously, Deadpool and Wolverine did allude to their rivalry but failed to showcase an actual fight between them.

The Two Biggest Possible Cameos in Marvel’s Wolverine are Already Obvious

The exceptional portrayal of Deadpool and Wolverine’s intense, violent bond in the film “Deadpool and Wolverine” offers an opportunity that seems too good to miss, particularly for Insomniac, a studio deeply influenced by the animated Spider-Verse films in its Marvel’s Spider-Man series. Drawing inspiration from other Spider-Man stories is not uncommon, and it’s reasonable to expect similar influences in the upcoming “Marvel’s Wolverine“.

Miles Morales” was inspired by “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, Insomniac Games might follow suit and create a Deadpool and Wolverine skin for Wolverine in their game.
