This article contains spoilers from Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Watching the latest chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been a whirlwind of surprises! This month, Ikemoto and Kishimoto revealed a lot about the Shinju, particularly Mamushi. A lot of fans initially thought he was the weakest of the Shinju, but it turns out he’s incredibly powerful. Being born from the Divine Tree makes him exceptionally hard to defeat, but that’s just the beginning. Kishimoto revealed in chapter 17 that Mamushi has a Jutsu that’s reminiscent of Naruto’s Shadow Clone technique, though it functions in a completely unique and much more potent way.
Many fans are aware that Mamushi has the powerful ability to create numerous copies of himself, with seemingly no limit. This makes him incredibly dangerous and difficult to defeat in battle. His unique technique is clearly very potent, and it’s likely we’ll see even more of what it can do in the future. Currently, it’s already considered one of the strongest abilities created by Kishimoto and Ikemoto throughout the series.
Mamushi’s Copying Skill Is Overpowered
Mamushi Can Copy Himself Infinitely

- His clones don’t lose strength or chakra
- The downside is reduced intelligence
Mamushi is a very powerful character with several abilities, but his Copy power is arguably his most impressive. As Kashin Koji explains in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 27, Mamushi can create multiple copies of himself, and seemingly has no limit to how many he can make. While this might seem similar to the Shadow Clone Technique, there’s a significant difference between the two.
Mamushi’s ability is to increase his numbers as much as he wants. — Kashin Koji
Mamushi has a unique ability: he can create perfect copies of himself, not just illusions. Each copy is a fully independent version of him, with no loss of power. Unlike techniques that split strength between clones, Mamushi maintains his full power and chakra in every single copy, and he can create an unlimited number of them. If given enough time, this means he could theoretically overwhelm the world with his clone army and cause widespread destruction.

This Jutsu does have one drawback: the more Mamushi creates clones, the less intelligent each clone becomes. If he makes enough, even basic tasks become difficult for them, making it much easier to defeat him. Despite this weakness, the technique remains incredibly powerful.
Kashin Koji says Mamushi will be in Konoha within a week, and Inojin needs to master a new Jutsu to stand a chance against him.
A More Intelligent Character Can Make This Jutsu Unstoppable
Mamushi’s Technique Is Arguably The Strongest

Mamushi isn’t one of the most powerful or smartest characters in Boruto. He actually has pretty low intelligence, which really holds him back. However, if someone with greater strength used his ability, it would be incredibly dangerous. For instance, if Sasuke had access to this power and could create many clones, he wouldn’t suffer the same intelligence loss as Mamushi because Sasuke is already much smarter. That makes this technique potentially one of the strongest we’ve seen – it all comes down to how intelligent the user is.
The next chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, chapter 28, will be released on November 20, 2025, at 10 AM Eastern Time / 3 PM Coordinated Universal Time. Fans can read it for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
