As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that I recently learned Nexon has rolled out an update for “The First Descendant,” focusing on the Void Erosion Purge endgame mode. This hotfix significantly boosts the rewards we collect as we advance through various stages, making our journey even more rewarding!
Besides the enhanced loot, this update includes modifications to the Sigma Sector, balance tweaks, and a slew of bug fixes for “The First Descendant.” I can’t wait to dive back into the game and experience these changes firsthand!
Initially, Nexon’s free-to-play third-person shooter with loot elements, titled The First Descendant, garnered a substantial player base, reaching 10 million users within the first seven days of its launch. However, the game’s popularity dipped dramatically over the course of a year due to mixed reactions, primarily centered around its free-to-play structure and repetitive gameplay that required extensive grinding. Nevertheless, Nexon has persisted in supporting the game and recently rolled out the Season 2, Episode 2 update, dubbed “Beyond The Void.” This update introduces a fresh main storyline, a new character known as the Descendant, and additional content. Currently, Nexon is making adjustments to enhance the gaming experience for its players.
In the latest update, Patch 1.2.11, adjustments have been made to the ‘Beyond The Void’ expansion of ‘The First Descendant’. These changes primarily focus on enhancing rewards within the Void Erosion Purge endgame mode. Previously, players found it challenging to collect a sufficient number of Core Amplifiers to upgrade their Ultimate Weapon, which seemed rather unfair. To address this issue, Nexon has boosted the quantity of Core Amplifiers that can be earned as rewards upon completing Stages 21-30. The reward for Stage 30, specifically, has been increased from 40 to 70, significantly easing the process for players.
Furthermore, the time limit for the Void Erosion Purge has been extended from 10 minutes to 12 minutes for stages 1-30. The Death Penalty has been decreased from 24 seconds to 20 seconds, and the health points of monsters in stages 25-29 have been reduced.
In the most recent update, a fresh character named Serena was added to the game ‘The First Descendant’. She is a DPS character who specializes in firearm combat and has the ability to battle enemies with fire-based skills while flying high above the ground. The latest hotfix adjusted the visual effect of Serena’s skill “Divine Surge” from her Module, called Purifying Blaze, to make it easier on the eyes. Furthermore, several weapons’ visual effects were also fine-tuned for the same purpose.
Nexon has made improvements to both the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX), simplifying navigation within menus while resolving various problems and introducing helpful features like custom notifications for in-game shopping activities. In the game “Descendant Instructor,” sub-quests have been included in the “View Quest Again” section, aiding players in keeping tabs on their quest progress.
This update addresses numerous glitches affecting Descendants, weapons, user interface, and a problem that halted some gamers from advancing in the main invasion quest “A New Encryption Scheme” in The First Descendant. The patch is now live on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5, allowing players to immediately enjoy the improvements.

Sigma Sector
In simpler terms, we’ve lowered the Vulgus Storm Barrier in Landing Zone Cassian due to a breach in the boundaries of Sigma Sector, making it a high-risk area.
– Changed the number of attempts of the Sigma Sector Mission Challenge from 5 to 8.
Adjusted the effects to reduce visual strain for the commander during the teleportation of “Karel’s First Descendant Dia” and “Obliviant Commander, Pattern Elias.” This alteration aims to lessen the potential for visual fatigue that might occur when these monsters are moved.
Void Erosion Purge

The reward for completing stages 21 to 30 now includes more Core Amplifiers. This is how it’s been adjusted:

– Reduced the Death Penalty for the Void Erosion Purge in Stages 1-30 from 24 sec to 20 sec.

Adjusted the appearance of the explosion from the projectiles and Cluster Rounds in “Restored Relic”, doing so to minimize visual strain.
In the Sigma Sector, if you have the special weapon called “Ground Sweeper,” using it in proximity to another “Ground Sweeper” will reload ammunition for your weapon.
(4) UI & UX
– Improved the Shop page navigation hotkeys to allow continuous input.
I switched up the wording on the “Deselect All” button within the Descendant selection window of the Shop, so now it says “Select All” instead.
– Improved the “Related Items” list to show products that are only available in Customize.
Adjusted the “Remaining Time” counter for the “Assist with Serena’s Covert Operations” event, ensuring it accurately reflects the start time of the first Achievement phase.

As a dedicated player, I recently resolved a hiccup that occurred when claiming rewards from Today’s Bonus in Sigma Sector. Previously, doing so would cause an issue with selecting the associated list in Acquisition Info. But fear not! The glitch has been squashed, and we can all go back to our usual routine of collecting rewards and managing our resources without any hassle. 😊
Bug Fixes
(1) Content
I’d rephrase that as follows: Previously, when Commanders “Karel’s First Descendant Dia” and “Obliviant Commander, Pattern Elias” had their Immune status active, there was a discrepancy between the starting attack range and the direction of the effect. This issue has now been resolved.
Resolved an issue preventing advancement in the main invasion quests, ‘A New Encryption Scheme’ and ‘Invasion’, while rejoining the game during the quest.
(2) Descendants
I’ll rephrase that for you: – I resolved a problem that caused Valby and Ultimate Valby to show unusual animations during the conclusion of their “Clean Up” Skill, if they were in mid-air at the time.
Or more casually: – I troubleshot an issue where both Valby and Ultimate Valby would do weird animations when their “Clean Up” skill ended while they were floating around.
(3) Weapons & Modules
I’ve resolved a problem that caused inaccurate stats to appear in the tooltip tips for the “Multi-Sight Module (Impact Rounds)” and the “Multi-Processor Module (Special Rounds)” when they were at Enhancement Level 0.
Revised the display issue so that the “Firing Duration” no longer appears in red during the process of upgrading the “Albion Cavalry Gun’s” unique ability within the user interface.
(4) UI & UX
Addressed a problem that occurred when the User Interface (UI) filter did not refresh instantly as expected, particularly when using Descendant filters within the Shop area.
– Modified the Shop Inbox tab to display a red dot when there are items to receive.
Revised the “Acquire Attached Item” instructional tip to display when hovering over attached items within the Shop Inbox for user convenience.
In the “[Event] Operation Support Shop,” a notification will appear when you try to buy more than the allowed limit.
I made a correction for the situation where the Experience Bar wasn’t fully filled upon reaching the maximum level for the Unique Arche Factor.
– Added a notification message when acquiring Today’s Bonus in Sigma Sector.
– Fixed an issue where Back Attachment Paints were not being displayed when moving between Maps.
– Modified the Weapon Info to display the Fire Rate stat without decimal points.
– I resolved the problem that prevented equipment from being removed from slots on the Character Customization screen when using a gamepad.
Corrected a problem that prevented the formulas for calculating the stats “Multi-Hit Chance” and “Multi-Hit Damage” from appearing on the Damage Per Second (DPS) interface when they were recently added.
ㄴ Actual applied values were correctly displayed; only UI stat values were displayed incorrectly.
(5) Miscellaneous
I solved a problem that occurred when the information about acquiring items from combining and dismantling wasn’t scrolling properly.
As a dedicated user, I recently resolved a problem that was causing the UI tooltips for specific Inversion effects to show incorrect values in various languages, apart from Korean. The displayed numbers didn’t match the actual applied values. Now, everything should be accurate across all supported languages!
