Summary

  • Schedule 1 releases update v0.3.4, featuring new content, gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, and more.
  • The update was released in beta earlier this week, but is now available to all Steam users.
  • Patch v0.3.4 includes plenty of new decorations and the ability to sell items at the Pawn Shop.

Independent developer TVGS has rolled out a fresh update for their popular cooperative simulation game, Schedule 1, jam-packed with additional content, enhancements, and more. This update, initially available in beta testing before its official release to all players on April 10th, elevates the game to version 0.3.4. The new features include various decorative items, tweaked gameplay mechanics for better performance, bug fixes, and a feature that allows selling items at the Pawn Shop.

Surprisingly, the game developed by just one person, known as Schedule 1, has achieved immense popularity on Steam. Just days after its early access release on March 24th, Schedule 1 saw over 130,000 simultaneous players. This indie sensation then reached an astounding 459,075 concurrent players by April 6th, a mere fortnight post-launch. Now nestled among Steam’s top five most-played games, enthusiasts eagerly await fresh content and enhancements for Schedule 1. Fortunately, TVGS continues to support the game with another patch, offering new content, bug fixes, refined gameplay elements, and more.

In the past few days, TVGS has made public a beta version of an update for Schedule 1. Now, only three days later, the solo developer has rolled out the new content update for Steam users. The latest patch, v0.3.4, is now accessible for download and comes with various decorative items and goods, as well as the option to sell almost anything at the Pawn Shop. Additionally, there are numerous gameplay adjustments and enhancements, such as a revamped counteroffer product selection interface, fresh phrases for customer recommendation dialogue, an expanded jar stack capacity of 20 jars, among other improvements. Furthermore, this update includes several bug fixes; more details on these can be found in the patch notes at the bottom of this article.

Despite the fact that Schedule 1 isn’t yet among the indie games officially compatible with the Steam Deck, this situation may improve in the future. TVGS has expressed an interest in enhancing the game’s performance through updates and aims to gain official support for the Steam Deck as soon as possible. At present, Valve has labeled Schedule 1 as “playable” on the Steam Deck, but it is not yet officially verified. As per its official Steam page, some functionalities are inaccessible using the default controller setup, and there seem to be various text-related issues with the game on the Deck.

After garnering significant popularity on Steam, the game “Schedule 1” has sparked controversy with another developer. Move Games S.A., publisher of “Drug Deal Simulator,” announced that “Schedule 1” is under examination for suspected copyright violations. Move Games S.A. emphasized that they bear no ill feelings towards the solo developer of “Schedule 1” and aim not to obstruct sales of the game. Fortunately, TVGS has continued to roll out new updates for “Schedule 1,” with the investigation still in progress.

My next focus will be on taking care of any remaining bugs. My top priorities are:

  • Making sure employees are working consistently and without issue.
  • Preventing save games getting corrupted/disappearing. I’ve met with some folks at Valve and got some great insight into how I can improve the save file format so that it plays a bit nicer with Steam Cloud saves, as well as being less prone to corruption.
  • Minimizing disconnections and loading issues in multiplayer.
