The stage called “Armored Hardcore” is the eleventh additional level for Astro Bot and it’s the last one in the galaxy known as the Vicious Void. Similar to the four levels before it, Armored Hardcore is designed with a speedrun concept, but unlike the others, players only need to reach the final platform to get an exclusive Astro Bot VIP Bot as a reward.
To progress through the stage, gamers should utilize Astro’s cannonball ability-boost, which was initially unveiled during the Hieroglitch Pyramid phase. This level isn’t particularly complex overall, but there may be certain sections where players might encounter some difficulties.
How to Complete Armored Hardcore
To maximize gameplay time in Armored Hardcore effectively, it’s best to abstain from employing Astro’s cannonball power-up on bounce pads whenever feasible. This is because, similar to hovering, it unnecessarily extends playtime on the clock. Instead, players should initially use standard jumps to traverse the initial platforms and only utilize the ball on the third one to access the subsequent area.

Here, they plan to re-launch the ball immediately upon landing and utilize it for maneuvering through the sharp protrusions on the ground, similar to the classic game Marble Madness. However, in this case, players can jump by pressing the X button. Their goal is to use this ability to clear all the spikes, then leap or hover over/around the three enemies that appear on the crumbling sand blocks as they follow.

In the upcoming part, players should land on the initial spring pad upon its first bounce, without activating the ball’s power-up. If timed correctly, this will enable them to leap onto the second one as it appears from the flames on the right side. From there, they can use that bounce to reach the platform above. On this platform, players should swiftly jump and hover past the two enemies moving towards them.

Players should leap over to the distant platform, positioning themselves behind the bolt on their left side to avoid enemy projectiles. After the flame wall moves from left to right, they should execute a spinning punch by pressing Square, thereby dismantling the bolt and causing a blue volcano to materialize.

Leaping into the volcano with a cannonball stance will transport them to an adjacent region housing four additional adversaries and pairs of flamethrowers. Fortunately, these perils are coordinated, so players should simply stand by the bolt and wait for all four threats to pass in succession. Upon their safe passage, they can execute another spin-punch to dislodge the bolt, allowing them to dive into the volcano and advance towards the final platform.
Armored Hardcore Cameo Bot
After finishing Armored Hardcore, Astro Bot gamers will receive the Renaissance Man VIP Bot, modeled after Ezio from the Assassin’s Creed series. Once they access the Gatcha Lab following his unlock, they can obtain the Haystack item. This item will cause the Ezio Cameo Bot to leap into action if players hit him or the tower he’s standing on. Similar to other Vicious Void DLC stages, there is only one Armored Hardcore VIP Bot available.
