Master Hollowpoint in FragPunk: Tips for Dominating the Battlefield!

FragPunk is gearing up to become an outstanding contender in the free-to-play hero shooter genre, boasting a groundbreaking Shard Card system that lets players alter the dynamics of every round. Being a diehard fan of hero shooters, it also provides a diverse selection of Lancers, each with distinct abilities.

As a gamer diving into the world of FragPunk, let me tell you about one badass character I’ve come across: me, or rather, Hollowpoint. This Lancer is immediately available for players like us. Her unique skills focus on unmasking the enemy and taking them down with her powerful railgun – perfect for long-range sniping. In this guide, we’ll delve deeper into my abilities and share some tips to make me an effective force on the battlefield.

Hollowpoint’s Skills Explained in FragPunk

  • Meteora

As a gamer, I’m packing a powerful single-shot railgun with an adjustable zoom scope. When I peer through the sights, this railgun charges up to boost its damage and scan for enemies within my line of sight. By design, Meteora comes with two charges per round, but it naturally refills these over time.

  • Smokescreen

Set up a progressing fog screen that exposes enemies within it. This obstacle can be used twice during each round, but won’t regenerate unless special Shard Cards are utilized.

  • Paparazzi

Set up a gadget that clings to nearby opponents, exposing their positions. The player has the option to break it or remove it by engaging with the gadget itself. Typically, this tool can only be employed twice during each round. Nevertheless, the device can be retrieved when close enough, using the interact button.

How To One-Shot Without Fully Charging The Meteora

In its uncharged state, the Meteora inflicts 52 damage on the body and 63 on the head. When fully charged, it becomes a one-hit kill no matter where it strikes. However, there might be instances when players can’t fully charge the Meteora without being hit. In such cases, shooting at the head while aiming down sights could be an effective substitute. If the Meteora is partially charged, around 75%, a headshot would deal 152 damage – this could potentially result in a one-shot kill if no health-enhancing Shard Cards are being used.

Optimal Locations To Place The Paparazzi Trap

The Paparazzi serves effectively as a preemptive alert mechanism for the defense squad, functioning optimally when positioned along paths leading towards either the A or B Site in Shard Clash. It’s also useful for keeping an eye on crucial side routes or staying close to the Converter while assaulting to detect possible bombers. Yet, it’s essential to consider placement carefully, as enemies can destroy it if they spot it before it becomes operational.

As a savvy player, I often strategically conceal my traps by positioning them around corners, behind low-lying walls, or near doorways to catch unsuspecting enemies off guard before they even think of disarming them. It’s crucial to keep an eye on the activation range of your traps, indicated by the bubble around them, so you can gauge how wide an area they protect. If I ever find myself in a spot where my trap isn’t working as intended, I simply recall it and relocate it to a more advantageous position.

Use The Smokescreen As Cover

Players might initially think of using Smokescreens mainly for enemy detection, but since it can move and pass through obstacles, it serves exceptionally well as a protective shield. For example, when players or their team need to traverse an open area without being targeted, deploying the Smokescreen can be a smart tactic – essentially, it provides rolling protection while exposing enemies within its vicinity.

In one-on-one situations from a distance, players also have the option to use the Smokescreen to mask their location and get closer for an edge. Furthermore, players can lock the Smokescreen in position by pressing the interaction button, making it usable as stationary cover when needed – whether to obstruct visibility towards an objective or important focal point.

With The Meteora, You Miss Every Shot You Don’t Take

In most games like FragPunk, many Skills have a set number of uses, so players often choose to save them for important moments instead of using them right away at the beginning of a round. However, what sets Meteora apart is that its uses can regenerate over time, reducing the need for conservation. To add to this, the weapon’s unique feature is that it automatically exposes enemies within its scope range when aiming, meaning there’s no reason to miss an opportunity to shoot. If a kill isn’t made, players can then track down and finish off the exposed enemy before they have a chance to heal themselves.
