Lillard recently chatted with ComingSoon about his new whiskey brand Quest End Druid and their latest venture, the Fam Club, both of which were recently launched. During the interview, they discussed his roles in movies such as Scream and FNAF 2. Regarding FNAF 2, the interviewer wondered if they upped the budget to make the prequel “more impressive and superior” and what else fans could anticipate from the forthcoming horror film. Lillard explained that the budget didn’t increase significantly because their production was more like a small, independent horror movie compared to Marvel Studios, which can easily spend between $250 million and $500 million on their films (e.g., all Avengers movies had a budget of over $200 million). As for the storyline, he hinted that it had been made more intense. He stated:

> “We didn’t really increase the budget much because we were essentially an independent little horror movie, unlike Marvel Studios, which can afford to spend hundreds of millions on their films. For our upcoming FNAF 2 flick, I can tell you that the plot has been amped up.”

Scott Cawthon is known for carefully considering fan input when it comes to his game creations. He makes adjustments and modifications based on the community’s response, as demonstrated by the changes he made to the visuals and gameplay of Security Breach following concerns about character designs and tone in the early trailers. Similarly, in 2016, when he released FNAF World, a lighter RPG spin-off, it faced intense backlash due to poor design and numerous bugs. In response, he removed it from Steam, apologized, and later re-released it for free after fixing the issues, admitting that the early release was due to pressure and acknowledging fans’ feedback. Given this history, Lillard’s comment about Cawthon listening to the audience for the anticipated Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a reflection of his usual approach.

It’s expected that the sequel of this series will offer more shocking moments and less domestic strife as it’s the horror aspects that draw fans into the FNAF franchise. The second film is actually a prequel, implying that Scott Cawthon’s character, William Afton, who perished in the first installment, will resurface again. In January, sneak peeks were unveiled, one of which showed Afton standing on stairs overlooking Elizabeth Lail, portraying Vanessa Shelly, and director Emma Tammi. This photograph hints at Lillard’s return for FNAF 2, exciting fans because he plays the primary villain in FNAF, thereby promising more fear.
