A skillful admirer of Pokémon has recently created a cute version for Lickitung, following the tradition started in the second generation of Pokémon games where creatures like Pichu, Togepi, and Cleffa were introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver. These baby forms have been quite popular among fan artists ever since.
Lickitung is a creature belonging to the Normal type that made its debut in the initial generation of Pokemon games. Acquiring this peculiar creature was quite challenging for players; they had to trade a Slowbro found on Route 18 to receive it in Pokemon Red and Blue, or capture it in the Cerulean Cave during the endgame in Pokemon Yellow. In Generation 4, Lickitung got an official evolution, known as Lickilicky, which can be obtained by having Lickitung learn the Rollout move and evolving it. Interestingly, despite gaining an official evolution later on, Lickitung has never had a baby form.
Currently, a Pokemon enthusiast artist named qobrosii has graciously shared a preliminary version of Lickitung, which they’ve dubbed Lickle, within the community. This adorable, light pink Pokemon sports an outsized tongue reminiscent of Lickitung as a baby, complete with a large wig-like top and a tiny tail. The artist’s work was met with enthusiasm by the community, receiving over 5,200 upvotes. In response to the post, several fans complimented the design, expressing their belief that it resembled an official creation and regretting that Nintendo and Game Freak missed the opportunity to introduce this creature alongside Lickilicky during Generation 4.
Pokemon Fan’s Adorable Baby Lickitung
This particular design is only one of several stylish baby forms that have been recently posted in the Pokemon community. A while back, for instance, a fan came up with a baby form for Tropius which they named Platiny. This newly imagined creature boasts an incredibly imaginative design, appearing like a tiny green dinosaur adorned with a yellow banana peel on its head.
I recently came across an impressive piece of craftsmanship from fellow Pokémon enthusiast, showcasing cute and cheerful baby forms for the Legendary Pokémon trio of Johto – Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Suicune. This fan artist truly outdid themselves with this delightful artwork!
Last year, I came across a remarkable piece of fan art that truly caught my eye – the baby form concept for Smeargle, cleverly renamed Linearf by its creator. This adorable puppy-like character boasts a warm brown fur coat, an endearing face, and a tiny tail tipped with ink. I can’t wait to see more talented artists bring similar creativity to life, sharing their baby forms of popular Pokémon for all of us fans to enjoy.
