I’m thrilled to share that as a dedicated Pokémon GO fan, I’ve learned we have a special Raid Day coming up on May 3! The star of the show will be Mega Kangaskhan. The raid schedule has been bustling lately, offering us numerous opportunities to battle an array of pocket monsters. Can’t wait for this exciting encounter!

Kangaskhan was among the initial creatures you could find when Pokemon GO debuted. But there’s a twist: although you can come across this Kanto creature in the wild, Kangaskhan is uniquely found only in Australia. Its mega form made its entrance in 2022 during A Mega Moment, an event introduced to commemorate the comeback of Mega Evolutions and associated features within the augmented reality game. In August 2024, it was last seen in raids, and Niantic has announced that Mega Kangaskhan will make a reappearance soon.

On the 3rd of May, 2025, from 2 pm to 5 pm in your local timezone, Pokemon GO has planned a special Raid Day featuring Mega Kangaskhan. During this event, any Mega Kangaskhan you encounter in raids will possess the Charged Attack Stomp, which carries a power of 55 in trainer battles and 50 in Gyms and raids. In preparation for this event, starting from Friday, May 2, at 5 pm to Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 8 pm Pacific Time, the limit on Remote Raid Passes will be increased to 20. Additionally, players may receive up to five extra Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs and have an enhanced chance of discovering a shiny Mega Kangaskhan!

However, these tasks and rewards must be claimed and finished by Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 5 pm local time, as they will disappear forever after that.

In Mega Raids, Pokemon revert to their original form, making this a prime moment for Pokémon GO players residing outside Australia to capture a Kangaskhan. However, before the event becomes accessible within the game, there are two other Raid Days scheduled: Gigantamax Snorlax on April 19 and the debut of Dynamax Entei in Pokémon GO on April 26 will precede it.
