As a gamer, I find that spring is not just about blooming flowers or sneezing from allergies. There’s something about this season that feels incomplete without a touch of virtual combat or some adrenaline-pumping action games to truly savor its beauty.
Developer Reikon Games has decided to share some excitement ahead of time, and that’s why they have revealed the launch date for a playable demo of their forthcoming cyberpunk shooter, METAL EDEN.
METAL EDEN was one of the highlights of the February 12 PlayStation State of Play event.
On April 8th, you’ll have a chance to try out the fresh game for the first time as the demo becomes accessible on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.
In the playable demo of “METAL EDEN“, you’ll get to experience Mission 0, the prologue, as well as the initial story mission titled “Paradise Lost” (Mission 1).
As per the creators, these two missions are designed to gently familiarize players with the game’s mechanics by gradually ramping up the difficulty, while simultaneously offering an initial glimpse into the game’s narrative.
Ghost In The Game

In terms of both its visual style and storytelling, METAL EDEN strongly embodies the aesthetics of the 1980s and 1990s Japanese era. It takes significant inspiration from iconic dystopian futuristic works like Ghost in the Shell and Neon Genesis Evangelion, yet manages to present a sense of familiarity without feeling overly repetitive or stale.
In METAL EDEN, humanity has advanced beyond physical bodies, leading one to ponder whether the Adeptus Mechanicus authored this tale. Instead of flesh and blood, human intelligence manifests as cores embedded within mechanical entities.
as ASKA carries out her assignment, she meets her end.
Instead of dying like ordinary human beings, ASKA gets reprinted, regenerates her essential self, and starts anew. With each reprinting, ASKA becomes increasingly powerful, reaching a climactic surge of strength in the final stages.
Refining the design process as we do might prompt thoughts about whether Robert Pattinson’s character in Bong Joon Ho’s dark sci-fi comedy, Mickey 17, would have found his role less daunting or stressful.
METAL EDEN is set to be officially launched on May 6th, appearing on PlayStation, Xbox Series X and S, as well as PC platforms. During the pre-launch phase, you can access the demo without any expiration date.
