Metaphor: ReFantazio: 7 Best Accessories Ranked

As someone who’s spent countless hours battling mythical beasts and conquering virtual worlds, I can confidently say that the Formincible effect is nothing short of game-breaking. But even it pales in comparison to the sheer power I’ve wielded with the slayer of the godlike Apocalypse Dragon.

While ReFantazio is frequently likened to Persona, its battle system adopts the turn-based style typical of Shin Megami Tensei, which is called Press Turn.

In Metaphor: ReFantazio, the strategic depth of its combat system surpasses that of many other turn-based RPGs, thanks to a multitude of customization options for each character. These include their Archetypes, inherited skills, equipment choices, and the process of leveling up.

The RPG features countless accessories that alter combat dynamics, whether by reducing the Synthesis Turn Icon cost to one or restoring MP every turn—especially handy for managing one of the biggest struggles in long dungeons like the Dragon Temple.

This list highlights the seven best accessories in Metaphor: ReFantazio that we practically kept equipped on our party at all times and helped us win against the game’s hardest secret bosses, including one infamous dragon hidden inside a crimson-colored book.

7 Venomward Charm

EffectPrevents Poison, Malady, Paralysis, Hex, Burn, and Frostbite, and all stats +3.

In the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio,” the Venomward Charm is likely to be one of the initial accessories you’ll acquire if you’re aiming to collect all the Gold Beetles. This item offers a straightforward yet beneficial function: it shields your character from any physical status issues, and also grants an overall boost to all stats.

Typically, most monsters don’t cause status issues for your team, but some bosses may use area effects that do. Equipping this accessory on a tank or healer can significantly improve battle outcomes, allowing you to survive longer and potentially take more turns in these challenging encounters.

6 Full Moon Medal

The Best Lunar Phase

EffectLarge MP recovery every turn in battle.
Where to findReward for winning Varmareno Coliseum’s Silver Battle Rank I.

Quite a few items listed here can be obtained by participating in the Varmareno Coliseum, making it worthwhile to gear up as a gladiator right away. One of these items is the Full Moon Medal, and its beneficial impact is quite clear.

Managing MP in the game ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’ can be tough, as abilities and Synthesis become progressively expensive with MP when you believe you’ve got the hang of it. An accessory that restores MP each turn is priceless, helping to prevent the frustration of perpetually adjusting costs or saving items for crucial situations.

Also worth it if you’re tired of relying on the Mage Archetype field skill.

Additionally, being a charm, there are no restrictions on exchanging it between party members. You can engage in an effortless fight, have each member defend until the character with the Full Moon Charm has completely recharged their MP, then continue this process as often as necessary.

5 Radiant Crystal

Shining Bright Like A Diamond

EffectAll stats +8.

Among numerous potent equipment pieces, there aren’t enough to go around for all seven teammates. Why don’t we boost every stat by 8 points using the Radiant Crystal instead? It might not have any extra features, but its straightforward benefit is significantly beneficial.

Essentially, the Radiant Crystal is like providing your character with an extra 20 “level-ups”, as each level brings two points. So, in essence, this accessory boosts your character by a substantial 40 points.

As a gamer, I’d say: For those like me who prefer versatile gear, the Radiant Crystal stands out. It might not be the best for specific builds, but it sure is a solid choice for general gaming. The catch? Completing the Dragon Trials first. Don’t worry though, I’ve got faith in your abilities!

4 Utilitarian Manual

The Quality Or State Of Being Useful

EffectReduces the Turn Icon cost of Synthesis.
Where to findBought at any Magic Shop (need Alonzo Rank 7 ability)

In the game “Metaphor: ReFantazio,” synthesis abilities are incredibly potent, be they aggressive or supportive. Given their power, it’s not surprising that performing a Synthesis requires using two Turn Icons, unless you possess the Utilitarian Manual.

This item simplifies Synthesis abilities down to a single Turn Indicator. If you’re constructing a character with an emphasis on dealing damage, other items might serve you better, but for supportive roles, this is among the top choices.

Putting the Utilitarian Manual on the Healer Lineage gives you the ability to perform the divine spell, Godly Blessing, which restores all knocked-out allies to full health in just one turn, making it an essential tool in critical moments. Alternatively, you can utilize it to repeatedly activate Masquerade Charge from the Persona Master, a boost that enhances your party’s physical attack power once per battle.

The boost in damage is significant, becoming even more so when combined with items such as the Overlord’s Sash, enabling certain Character Classes to reach astonishingly high damage figures.

3 Hero King’s Ring

A True King Accessory

EffectNullifies damage from all affinities except Almighty.

ReFantazio’. Therefore, we didn’t rank it as the most impressive accessory within the game.

On one hand, it’s important to mention this, but on the other, it’s undeniably powerful. In essence, nullifying all forms of damage is simply too strong a move. This makes a character almost unbeatable, which is the epitome of overpowered in any gaming scenario.

Should you happen to meet an adversary wielding divine-like attacks, it wouldn’t present a problem for the one who vanquished the apocalyptic dragon deified as a god.

2 Gambler’s Manual

Stop When You’re Winning

EffectDoubles critical hit damage.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but appreciate how ReFantazio sets itself apart in the realm of turn-based RPGs. It’s all about those critical hits – they don’t just hurt, they HURT BAD! And if that wasn’t enough, landing one gives me an extra shot at victory. But it’s not all offense, no sir! Dodging is my secret weapon. When I dodge, the enemy takes a step back, losing their turn and giving me the upper hand. Truly, ReFantazio knows how to keep things exciting!

Of course, it’s worth mentioning that a Character setup emphasizing critical hits will greatly benefit from using the Gambler’s Manual, leading to spectacular destruction of opponents.

Improving the accessory significantly when paired with the Tycoon’s Critical Trade passive ability, as it doubles the probability of scoring a critical hit. A character with a high Luck stat is crucial for creating a high-critical, high-damage persona due to Luck being the deciding factor in critical hit rate.

1 Overlord’s Sash

An Overlord Is Mightier Than A King

EffectSharply increases the power and MP cost of Synthesis skills that use MP.

Opting for an exceptional accessory like the Overlord’s Sash might seem unusual, but let me tell you, this item packs a significant punch. The exact power boost it provides isn’t clearly defined, but take our word for it – certain Synthesis skills can become incredibly potent, and when combined with appropriate passive abilities, they can prove downright lethal.

Once acquiring the Overlord’s Sash, we placed it on our main character who embodies the Prince role. We then incorporated the passive abilities of the Tycoon Archetype to amplify critical hit chances and Almighty damage by 20%, along with additional damage enhancements. If the Magic Points (MP) expenditure becomes excessive, consider adopting the Magic Link trait from the Elemental Master to reduce MP costs by half.

In boss battles, we stuck to the same strategy. We apply all possible damage buffs to the protagonist, cast Masquerade Charge, and use debuffs to lower the enemy’s defense if there are enough Turn Icons. Finally, we unleash Royal Sword Synthesis from the Prince Archetype. If the ability lands a critical hit, few bosses will stay standing. If not, repeat until any enemy is down.
